Weekly Roundup - Living On Nothing Edition Category: Roundups | Comments(15)
Did you hear about the guy that lives on nothing? No seriously, he lives on zero dollars a day. Meet Daniel Suelo, who lives in a cave outside Moab, Utah. Suelo has no mortgage, no car payment, no debt of any kind. He also has no home, no car, no television, and absolutely no creature comforts. But he does have a lot of creatures, as in the mice and bugs that scurry about the cave floor hes called home for the last three years.
To us, Suelo probably sounds a little extreme. Actually, he probably sounds very extreme. After all, I suspect most of you reading this are doing so under the protection of some sort of man-made shelter, and with some amount of money on your person, and probably a few needs for money, too. And who doesnt need money unless they have completely unplugged from the grid? Still, its an amusing story about a guy who rejects all forms of consumerism as we know it.

FDA Hepatitis Update - Infergen (interferon alfacon-1) label revision: combination therapy, weight-based dosing, and label format
Wednesday, July 7, 2010 7:03 AM
From:
“U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA)” fda@service.govdelivery.com
You are receiving this message as a subscriber to the FDA hepatitis electronic list serve. The purpose of the list serve is to relay important information about viral hepatitis-related products and issues, including product approvals, significant labeling changes, safety warnings, notices of upcoming public meetings and alerts to proposed regulatory guidances for comment.
On July 2, 2010, FDA approved revised labeling for Infergen (interferon alfacon-1) to include information on combination therapy with weight-based dosing of ribavirin. The label was placed in PLR (Physicians Labeling Rule) format and the major labeling changes include revisions to the following sections :
1) Indications and Usage section to include information describing when patients are unlikely to benefit from retreatment. This section reads as follows:
INFERGEN (interferon alfacon-1) is indicated for treatment of chronic hepatitis C in patients 18 years of age or older with compensated liver disease. This indication is based on clinical trials conducted using INFERGEN as monotherapy prior to the time that combination treatment was the standard of care and on a single trial evaluating INFERGEN in combination with ribavirin in patients who failed to respond to previous treatment with a pegylated interferon and ribavirin.
The following points should be considered when initiating treatment with INFERGEN:
· Use of monotherapy with an interferon such as INFERGEN for the treatment of hepatitis C is not recommended unless a patient is unable to take ribavirin.
· The safety and efficacy of the combination of INFERGEN/ribavirin in treatment-naïve patients or in patients co-infected with HBV or HIV-1 have not been evaluated.
· Patients with the following characteristics are less likely to benefit from retreatment with combination therapy: response of 1 log10 drop HCV RNA on previous treatment, Genotype 1, high viral load ( 850,000 IU/mL), African American race, and/or presence of cirrhosis.
· No safety and efficacy data are available for treatment of longer than one year.
2) Dosage and Administration section was updated to include dose recommendations for retreatment in combination with weight-based dosing of ribavirin for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C as follows :
Combination Treatment with INFERGEN/Ribavirin Dosing
The recommended dose of INFERGEN is 15 mcg daily administered as a single subcutaneous injection in combination with weight-based ribavirin at 1,000 mg-1,200 mg ( 75 kg/ and 75 kg) orally in two divided doses for up to 48 weeks. [see Clinical Studies (14.3), Medication Guide for instructions].
Ribavirin should be taken with food. INFERGEN/ribavirin should not be used in patients with creatinine clearance < 50 mL/min [see CONTRAINDICATIONS (4)].
Dose Modifications
If a serious adverse reaction develops during the course of treatment [see WARNINGS and PRECAUTIONS (5)] discontinue or modify the dosage of INFERGEN and/or ribavirin until the adverse event abates or decreases in severity. If persistent or recurrent serious adverse events develop despite adequate dosage adjustment, discontinue treatment. Upon resolution or improvement of the adverse reaction, resuming INFERGEN and/or ribavirin may be considered.
INFERGEN/Ribavirin Combination Therapy Dose Modifications
Stepwise dose reduction from 15 mcg to 9 mcg and from 9 mcg to 6 mcg may be necessary for serious adverse reactions.
Please refer to updated label for complete guidelines for dose modifications and discontinuation of Infergen and/or ribavirin based on depression or laboratory parameters
3) The Warnings and Precautions section was updated and placed in the order of importance of each toxicity of concern. Many of the toxicities are considered class labeling among the interferon products
4) The Adverse Event section was updated to remove antiquated information and to include information about safety from the INFERGEN/RBV study (DIRECT Trial/IRHC-001 and IRHC-002)
5) Clinical Studies section was updated to include information regarding study IRHC-001/IRHC-002/DIRECT Trial. Specifically,
Subsequent Treatment with Combination INFERGEN/Ribavirin
This study (DIRECT Trial/ IRHC-001 and IRHC-002) was a randomized, open-label, multi-center, US-based study comparing the safety and efficacy of two doses of INFERGEN (9 mcg or 15 mcg) administered daily plus ribavirin (1000 mg or 1200 mg weight based dosed) administered daily for 48 weeks to subjects who were nonresponders to previous pegylated interferon plus ribavirin (Peg-IFN/ribavirin) therapy. Prior non-response was defined as a 2 log10 decline in viral load (VL) while undergoing at least 12 weeks of previous Peg-IFN/ribavirin therapy with 80% adherence or a detectable VL at end-of-treatment after completing at least 24 weeks of therapy. Study subjects had a mean age of 50 yrs, 70% were male, mean weight of 89 kg, 19% were African Americans, 65% were Caucasians, 66% had high VL ( 850,000 IU/mL), 95% were infected with genotype 1, 54% had evidence of bridging fibrosis, 25% had evidence of cirrhosis on biopsy, and 50% had steatosis. Approximately 80% of the patients were null responders ( 2 log10 drop in viral load during their previous Peg-IFN/ribavirin therapy). The median washout period between previous treatment and day 1 of INFERGEN therapy was 448 days (15 months) and 506 days (16.8 months) for the 9 mcg and 15 mcg groups, respectively. The use of hematopoietic growth factors was not permitted in the DIRECT Trial.
In study IRHC-001, 515 subjects were randomized to INFERGEN 9 mcg plus ribavirin (n=171), INFERGEN 15 mcg plus ribavirin (n=172), or no treatment (n=172). In study IRHC-002, 144 patients in the no treatment arm of study IRHC-001 were re-randomized to either INFERGEN 9 mcg plus ribavirin (n=74) or INFERGEN 15 mcg plus ribavirin (n=70).
Subjects were treated for up to 48 weeks. The primary endpoint was sustained virological response (SVR), defined as undetectable HCV RNA 24 weeks after the end of treatment using a sensitive qualitative assay (TMA LOD 10 IU/mL). None of the subjects in the no-treatment arm of study IRHC-001 achieved an SVR.
Combined SVR results from IRHC-001 and IRHC-002 according to baseline characteristics are shown in Table 8 of the package insert. The overall SVR rate for INFERGEN 9 mcg/ribavirin was 5% (13/245) compared to 95 (21/242) for INFERGEN 15 mcg/ribavirin. Based on these results, INFERGEN 15 mcg is the recommended starting dose.
6) The Contraindications, and the Animal Toxicology and/or Pharmacology section was also updated.
Additionally the Medication Guide was revised to provide information on combination therapy with weight-based dosing of ribavirin and to provide information on the risk associated with interferon therapy.
The complete revised label can be accessed at the FDA web site.
Infergen is a product of Three Rivers Pharmaceuticals, Warrendale, PA.

A neighbor gave me some perfectly ripe avocados so I decided to make guacamole. This is a recipe I got from an old roommate in San Francisco and still love it to the day. Give it a try!
Estelle Torres’s Guacamole
2-3 ripe avocados, seeded and scoped out of the shell
Juice of one lime or lemon (any maybe some zest if you want)
1 8oz package pepper jack cheese, grated
1 onion chopped
1 tomato chopped
salt & pepper to taste and maybe some garlic powder if you wish
Optional: Sour cream
Mush up avocados with a fork, mix in lime or lemon juice and add the pepper jack cheese, mix well.
Add the rest and mix.
If you want it creamier, add a spoon or so of sour cream in the mix. If not serving right away, spread the sour cream on top to keep the guac from turning brown and stir it in right before serving.
~Lynda
Note: The pepper jack cheese may sound strange, but it really adds a nice zing to the dish.
Fresh mushrooms a virtual powerhouse of goodness, says nutritionist
By: Judy Creighton, The Canadian Press

Whether it is a meaty portobello, funnel-shaped oyster or lacy enoki, these
and other varieties of fresh mushrooms are now considered superfoods.
“They are full of nutrients and are virtually fat-, cholesterol- and
sodium-free,” says Toronto nutritionist Clare Jones, commenting on recent
studies of the popular fungi.
“On top of that, they contain a lot of antioxidants and vitamins and are
showing their value in preventing diseases like prostate and breast cancer,
heart, diabetes and arthritis.”
Add in antioxidants, and the term l-ergothioneine pops up. It is an
arthritis-fighting phytochemical that doesn’t break down when it’s heated,
which means the body still gets the benefits it releases.
Jones says she was surprised to discover that mushrooms also contain
natural vitamin D.
“It is becoming very important for us to increase our consumption of this
vitamin,” she says. Mushrooms contain a compound called ergosterol that is
turned into vitamin D in the body.
Jones says that other nutrients such as vitamins and minerals found in
mushrooms include essential traces of iron, potassium, phosphorus,
magnesium, copper and selenium.
In fact, one portobello mushroom has more potassium than a banana, she
points out.
Mushrooms contain no sodium, but are big on umami, which is an acid that
rounds out other flavours to add taste satisfaction.
“You can also substitute mushrooms for protein, so there are a variety of
reasons why they really fit the bill for consumers,” says Jones.
Are your children picky eaters who don’t like mushrooms?
Jones says she hasn’t had a problem getting her kids to eat them.
“I serve them along with other raw vegetables with their favourite dipping
sauce,” she says.
Mushrooms are an economical food option, notes Jones.
“Whether served as a side dish sauteed with a chicken breast or cooked on
the grill with some pork, that is not expensive to do.”
From purchase to consumption, here are tips to handle mushrooms from “Get
Fresh” by Toronto food writer Madeleine Greey.
Keep mushrooms in a vented paper bag and refrigerated for best results.
Shiitake and oyster mushrooms should be stored in a container with a damp
cloth on top to prevent them from drying out.
Most perishable are enoki, which last only a few days. White button,
oyster, cremini and boletes stay fresh for up to a week, shiitake and
portobello up to two weeks.
Do a nose check: if they smell sour, not earthy, their time is over.
Mushrooms don’t freeze well.
Don’t drown your mushrooms when washing them. They soak up water like
sponges which thins flavour and destroys nutrients. Instead, wipe them
clean with a damp paper towel or mushroom brush.

12 Simple Ways To Smooth Out Your Mornings
Posted By TipNut On July 5, 2010 @ 3:35 am In Organizing | No Comments
I think its true that our mornings set the tone for the day ahead, if you have a rushed and chaotic startthat seems to cling to you for at least the first few hours of the morning.
Here are a dozen things we do in our home that help us start the day on a positive note, all but the last two are done the night before. As small and insignificant some of these may seem, I find each do make a positive difference
12 Simple Ways To Smooth Out Your Mornings
Have Coffee & Breakfast Items Organized The Night Before
1. Get the coffee ready the night before, preferably the timer set too (if your machine has one). If not, set everything up so it just has to be switched on. If youre a morning tea drinker instead, have your tea cup out with a tea bag set inside, kettle waiting to be turned on the a.m.
2. Know whats on the menu for breakfast and have all food items that dont need to be refrigerated set out. Kitchen table is wiped down, fresh tablecloth placed, table set (or at least the clean dishes and utensils set out). Some breakfast ideas: How To Make Overnight Crockpot Oatmeal & Oatmeal In A Thermos [1] and How To Make Breakfast Burritos [2] for easy breakfast ideas. Toast, cereal, bagels and muffins are easy too, just make sure to check the stock the night before and bring out frozen supplies so theyll be thawed & ready in the a.m.
3. Prepare the next days packed lunches and snacks. Everything is bagged and ready to grab and go.
4. The next nights meal is planned, take out meat & frozen items from the freezer. If I dont do this the night before, sometimes Ill forget in the a.m. and you know what that means: ordering take-out for supper. If planning a slowcooker meal, prep the veggies and food needed for the meal the night before so all you need to do is toss everything in the crockpot when you get up and turn it on.
5. Have all clothes for the next day set out (press if needed), including shoes and accessories. If cool, cold or rainy weather is expected, have the necessary outerwear ready to go too.
6. Everyone has their own fresh towels and washcloths set aside for the next mornings shower, put them with your bathrobe. Too simple to make a difference? I find it really does add a nice touch to the mornings. If youre someone who can shower or bath the night before and skip this in the a.m., go for it! Myself, I need a coffee drip line & a hot shower to get going in the morning.
7. Review your next days To Do list, calender, household binder [3] so there are no last minute surprises while running out the door. Take a few minutes to review the next day with your spouse and kids too.
8. Pack totebags, briefcases, backpacks, diaper bags for the next day. The kiddos homework is done & packed, gym clothes packed, bus tickets, lunch money, etc.
9. If for some reason I forgot to pay attention to the vehicles fuel situation on the way home that day, Ill check it sometime in the evening and go fuel up if needed. I really dont need to be fighting the morning rush at the pumps. Ill also pick up any last minute supplies that are needed for the next day.
10. The dishwasher is emptied of all clean dishes, kitchen sink dishes are loaded in the dishwasher. I found this really made a difference, after breakfast everyone took a minute to load their dirty dishes in the dishwasher and there were no dirty dishes waiting when we got home.
11. Get up 15 minutes earlier than you have to. Wow, who knew that 15 minutes could mean so much? Less stress, less rushing, a more peaceful pace to start your day. If your mornings are too rushed with the kids, get them up 10 or 15 minutes earlier than they do nowthat should be enough to reduce the racing around.
12. Leave 5 minutes earlier than you have to. I think 90% of road rage would disappear if everyone simply allowed themselves a few extra minutes to get to where theyre going. No rush, no stress or Indy 500 drivingand you might even enjoy your morning drive!
These are 12 simple ways to help your mornings go well, and the beauty is that most dont have to be rushed through at bedtime the night before, they can be done anytime throughout the eveningand each only take a few minutes to manage.

Over 40 Mosquito Bite Itch Relief Tips
Posted By TipNut On June 14, 2007 @ 6:39 am In Health & Beauty,Home Remedies & Health,Popular Tips | 468 Comments
Its mosquito season and I have buffalo sized ones zipping around the backyard as I type this.
Thanks to their first feast on my ankles tonight and an earlier comment from Kim [1], I was inspired to dig through every tip I had regarding mosquito bites and relief from the itching. Scritch Scratch.
I havent tried most of the suggestions below, but Ill note which ones have worked for me.
Here are more than 40 mosquito bite itch relief tips organized in one neat file, each bullet tip is a single method:
Household Items To Relieve Itching
1. Rub a bar of soap over the itch. I just tried this (Ivory soap) and the relief was near instant. I used a dry bar of soap directly on the skin, but I also have notes that you can spritz bite with water and then run bar of soap over areaor use a wet bar of soap.
2. Place a piece of scotch tape on the bite; or dab rubbing alcohol or ammonia on the bite first then stick on a piece of tape.
3. Hot water: Take a hot shower, or a hot bath, or apply a hot compress. As hot as you can stand it without burning you.
4. Ice cube, ice pack or very cold water
Dabbers For Itch Relief
The quicker you can apply one of the remedies below, the faster the relief. These are topical suggestions, apply directly to the bite area.
1. Nail Polish
2. Strong tea mixed with rubbing alcohol
3. Toothpaste (works for me)
4. Mouthwash
5. Vinegar (apply directly to bite or take a hot bath with 2 cups of vinegar in the water)
6. Honey
7. Underarm deodorant (solid or roll-on) apply directly to bite area
8. Rubbing Alcohol
9. Ammonia
10. Bleach
11. Tea: Use a hot tea bag or a cotton ball soaked in hot tea to dab on bite area
Paste Applications
Mix these fresh then apply to bite as soon as possible. The consistency should be nice and thick so it wont run, yet will still stay in place on the affected area. You could also spritz bite with water then apply grains/powders directly (generously) and rub them in.
1. Baking Soda & Water (works for me)
2. Meat Tenderizer & Water
3. Salt & Water (works for me)
4. Epsom Salt & Water (could also do this as a foot soak if its the ankle/foot area affected)
5. Tums Tablets: crush and add a few drops of water
6. Aspirin: crush then add a few drops of water
7. Aspirin crush then apply a few drops of rubbing alcohol
Commercial Product Lotions, Creams & Applications
*Apply directly to mosquito bite area.
1. Calamine Lotion
2. Benadryl Cream
3. Orajel
4. Anbesol
5. Caladryl
6. Vicks VapoRub (works for me)
7. Preparation H (works for me)
8. Lucas Papaw Ointment
9. Tiger Balm
10. Bag Balm
11. Gold Bond Medicated Cream (or the Gold Bond Medicated Powder)
12. Mylanta (heartburn relief product)
13. After Bite
Essential Oils For Itch Relief
Apply full strength directly to bite area. Edit: There are concerns about using essential oils on children and pre-teens, especially repeated use.
1. Tea Tree Oil
2. Lavender Oil
3. Witch Hazel (astringent)
4. Cedar Oil
Leaf Applications
*Crush the fresh leaves roughly then apply to bite area
1. Basil
2. Plantains (Plantago)
Fruity Applications
*Use fresh fruit & apply directly to bite
1. Lemon Juice
2. Lemon Slice
3. Lime Juice
4. Lime Slice
5. Banana Peel (rub inside of peel on bite)
Whew! Big List! If Ive missed your favorite remedy for mosquito bites, please add them below.
Notes
* If a remedy doesnt provide fast relief, dont despair. Give it another try, sometimes it will take 2 or 3 applications before it kicks in.
* The itch from mosquito bites comes from the saliva of the mosquito that it injects into you as it feasts on your blood. There are several dozen different species of mosquitoes and you may react to some species bites more than others.
* If large swelling occurs (like welts), contact a doctor or pharmacist for suggestions (especially if its a child with a strong reaction). It could be an allergy to the bite. Its important to watch the throat for swelling and get treatment asap.

Posted By TipNut On June 12, 2010 @ 6:07 am In Crafty Ideas | 1 Comment
If youre looking for crafty projects and DIY ideas that are not only gift-worthy for Fathers Day but also useful
this is the list for you! Heres a collection of free tutorials and projects that will be appreciated and used by Dad throughout the year
and dont miss the bonus goodies listed at the bottom!
Homemade Fathers Day Gift Ideas
* How To: Make a Laptop Riser for Watching Movies and TV in Bed [1]: Made with a bent plywood stool, some work with a saw is required (nothing crazy thoughyou can make this!).
* Make a Cozy Throw With Repurposed Sweaters [2]: Great for both the cabin and the couch, make a comfy lap blanket for dad using old sweaters. If youre really ambitious, you can whip up an afghan [3] (has both knit and crochet patterns).
* Mustache Mug Tutorial [4]: Give dad an old fashioned mustache with this clever mug idea (just a bit of Pebeo gel stain & marker is involved).
* Upcycled Handlebar Bag Tutorial [5]: Make this clever bicycle accessory for Dad so he has a handy spot carrying keys, maps, a granola bar, or if hes really lucky, a pocket GPS unit.
* Padded iPad Sleeve Tutorial [6]: Is dad one of the lucky fellas that has an iPad (or maybe hes receiving one for Fathers Day?)
heres a quick project to make a lovely iPad cover/sleeve. No iPad? How about a cell phone or ipod pouchheres how to make those [7] (from A Pretty Cool Life) or this tutorial [8] from Sew Mama Sew.
* Laptop Sleeves & Cases [9]: A big list of tutorials to choose from.
* Golf Towel Sewing Tutorial [10]: Perfect gift idea for golfers, this is the nicest tutorial Ive come across for making a golf towel.
* Father And Son Barbecue Aprons [11]: Is Dad big into grilling? Make him an apron and maybe a matching one for the kiddos too! Stick a bottle of his favorite homemade bbq sauce [12] in the pocket and hes set to go.
* Handmade Tie [13]: This tie is remarkably simple to sew and makes the perfect Fathers Day present (plus there wont be another like it!).
* Fabric Mens Wallet [14]: This makes an ideal second wallet for hunting, fishing and sporting trips (when they dont need all their stuff and their good wallets should be left at home). One tip is to make the wallet using fabric from favorite old shirts.
* Fathers Day Photo Coffee Sleeve Tutorial [15]: Great little gift for coffee drinkers, make a sleeve that will fit his favorite cup size and insert a picture of his favorite peeps.
* Easy to Make Paperweights [16]: This tutorial will show you how to make lovely personalized glass paperweights (use a picture of the kids or an image from his favorite sport, etc.). You can also try this Concrete Lightbulb Project [17] for a desktop gift.
* Personalize Glass Items [18]: Use etching cream (or a sandblaster) to personalize glass mugs or containers (for desktop, dresser, etc.) to make something special for dad.
* Stamped Washer Keychains [19]: Two different tutorials, one showing how to stamp the washers and the other showing how to make the keychain. This requires a steel stamp set. Also check out this idea for making personalized dog tags [20] from Little Birdie Secrets. Heres another keychain idea: Shrinky Plastics Keychain [21]: Transfer an image of your choice (maybe something the kids made) onto inkjet shrink film, cut it out, punch a hole then heat in oven until it shrinks and voila! a personalized keychain.
Bonus Goodies:
* Fathers Day Freebie Labels [22] (pdf)
* Fathers Day Notepad [23] (Perfect project for the kiddos to make)

Free Gifts In A Jar Recipes + More
Posted By TipNut On December 21, 2009 @ 2:01 am In Food Tips,Popular Tips,Recipes | 5 Comments
Gifts in a jar typically include all the ingredients to make or bake something that are stored in jars (like mason jars or jam jars, etc.) and presented as gifts.
They can be cookie mixes, cake mixes, bath & beauty ingredients (like bath salts [1] and foot soaks [2]), hearty soup mixes, bread, buns, pastry ingredients, seasoning mixes, hot beverage recipes (like Homemade Spiced Mocha Mix [3]), any recipe that will keep well in a jar pretty much works.
Sometimes the ingredients are all layered in the jar and this can look quite appealing if theres some contrast between the colors, other times the recipe ingredients are fully mixed together before being placed in the jar.
After filling the jars, you can decorate the lids to look pretty and more festive. Make sure to include the list of ingredients and recipe directions for cooking or baking the mix or how to use the gift.
Heres a collection of resources that share hundreds of free recipes for these lovely homemade gifts. I also added a few treats at the bottom for how to decorate the jar lids as well as some freebie printables (labels & tags for gifts in a jar).

Window Treatments: Free Patterns & Tutorials
Posted By TipNut On May 23, 2009 @ 6:32 am In Sewing | 1 Comment
You can easily update and freshen up a room with new curtains, drapes, fabric shades and valances. Buying window treatments can get pretty expensive but you can easily make them to custom fit your windows and save money.
Tutorial for Fully Lined Tab-Top Drapes By 7layerstudio.typepad.com
Heres a collection of free patterns and tutorials for assorted styles Ive found around the net.
Window Treatments: Free Patterns & Tutorials
* Tutorial for Fully Lined Tab-Top Drapes [1]: (As seen in picture) These instructions are for a fully lined, tab-top style, although you could certainly make them without the lining (only recommended if you want a sheer look, or if the fabric youre using is extremely dense and wont let light show through). Sewing your own drapes takes a surprising amount of time (not something to be whipped up in an hour), but it can be significantly cheaper than ordering them, or even less expensive than buying ready-made drapes if the fabric you use is not too expensive. Also see Lined Tab Top Curtain Tutorial [2]: These curtains are easy to sew and a nice clean simple look. They are lined to block a bit more light and keep them looking nice from the outside too.
* How To Make A Roman Shade [3]: Youre basically wrapping your shades like a gift and hot-gluing the edges, and
Voila! Your very own custom Roman shades! Heres another tute for making Roman blinds: Roman Blind Tutorial In 20 Pictures Or Less [4].
* How To Sew Lined Curtains [5]: These are easy enough to make yourself, heres another tute: How To Make Lined Curtains [6].
* Box-Pleat Valance [7]: Follow these step-by-step instructions to sew your own custom-design valance.
* Simple Fabric Window Shades [8]: Instructions for a very simple window shade that are endlessly adaptable.
* How To Make Easy Curtains [9]: Panel curtains are the easiest style of drapes you can possible make, other than taping a stylish sheet to the window trim.
* Sew Curtains with Shirred Headers [10]: Shirring tape provides an elegant topping for sheer or lightweight fabrics. While the effect may look intimidating to make, it is actually a snap to sew curtains with ease, thanks to shirring tape.
* Tea Towel Curtains [11]: Couldnt be easier to make, perfect for non-sewers.
* Linen Curtains With deco ring grommets [12]: Another easy project.
* Dappled Lace Café Curtain Pattern [13]: Knit pattern, this lacy curtain allows you to enjoy the beauty of daylight and still maintain your privacy. A slightly loosened gauge gives the lace an airy quality, while the smooth cotton blend yarn knits into a crisp and attractive fabric.
