***We also have the gospel of Jesus Christ and so does Elim. ***

Your chosen companions don’t. If you lie down with dogs, Mary, you get up with fleas. I suspect that you are scratching furiously right about now.

Do you or do you not profess the Nicene Creed?

Why? Do you think some creed of men will save you?

No, but this has NOTHING to do with why I asked the question.

No, but this has NOTHING to do with why I asked the question.

Then why would one have to profess any creed whatsoever? (I find *none* of them necessary to my soul.)

Do you disagree with what the Nicene Creed says?

I certainly disagree with the capitalization of the word "Catholic", and giving the authority thereby to what is now the Roman Catholic Church... Without a doubt I cannot sanction that.

I don’t believe that Protestant versions capitalize Catholic.

And I am not so "up" on the "apostolic" part either, at least not in the sense of apostolic succession, which is probably the meaning it is meant to construe... At least not apostolic succession as you (y'all) would have it.

I don’t believe that the term apostolic refers to apostolic succession in the Nicene Creed.

I do believe in a single catholic Church, which transcends all denominations. No denomination (including yours) can claim to be inerrant. Most are trying to do well, Most are failing.

So, is there anything else in the Nicene Creed that you disagree with? (I’m going to bed, so if I don’t answer until tomorrow that’s why.)

I don’t believe that the term apostolic refers to apostolic succession in the Nicene Creed.

Others have attempted to use it against me in that fashion.

Nothing but those two things that I would object to strenuously.

But neither would I be as quick as others to deny those who could not stomach it whole - There are many who cannot accept an equal triune God, who put the Father above the Son and the Ghost - Or who put the Ghost below the Father and the Son... That is not necessarily in error to me.

The Godhead is a mystery, after all, and none can satisfactorily *prove* it upon the Scriptures. For those who demand the unprovable cause confusion. That is my objection to making professions by the rites of men. Any men.

***No.***

Then will you take the challenge line by line of the Nicene Creed in which your fleamates have already failed in order to determine whether you are Christian or not?

I already know that I’m a Christian. Whether you know it or not is of no significance to me.

Not in the least. Since you don’t know our pastors or people we know at Elim, what you think matters not.

You really have to wear the tinfoil hat all the time, or the Vatican and the aliens will know that you know........

Not to mention releasing the secrets of the Bilderburgers will get you in big trouble with the Hamburgler.

Exactly. They seem to forget or ignore the fact that Jesus Christ died for us and it’s our own choice as to whether we receive Him as our Saviour or ignore Him. They think their creeds will help us discover whether we are Christians or now. Pshaw on them. I’m finished with their nonsense.

***I already know that I’m a Christian. Whether you know it or not is of no significance to me.***

Matt 7:Matthew
Chapter 7
1
1 2 “Stop judging, that you may not be judged.
2
For as you judge, so will you be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you.
3
Why do you notice the splinter in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own eye?
4
How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove that splinter from your eye,’ while the wooden beam is in your eye?
5
You hypocrite, 3 remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother’s eye.
6
“Do not give what is holy to dogs, 4 or throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them underfoot, and turn and tear you to pieces.
7
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
8
For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
9
Which one of you would hand his son a stone when he asks for a loaf of bread, 5
10
or a snake when he asks for a fish?
11
If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good things to those who ask him.
12
6 “Do to others whatever you would have them do to you. This is the law and the prophets.
13
7 8 “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many.
14
How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few.
15
9 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but underneath are ravenous wolves.
16
By their fruits you will know them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
17
Just so, every good tree bears good fruit, and a rotten tree bears bad fruit.
18
A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree bear good fruit.
19
Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.
20
So by their fruits you will know them.

If you lie down with dogs, you will get up with fleas.
