LOL
Well, it was easier to fund field trips before the gov’t got involved in what could and could not be sold at school events.

Thanks, Jaycee.
I think she was just tired. She had a tough time getting to sleep last night.

Thanks Amy! This family man needs our prayers so he can continue to be a great dad, husband and friend. He stands out as one of the very best people I have ever known.

Sometimes, children can be preceptive. They sense impending stuff. Let’s hope abd pray that she sleeps well, tonight.

In Every Bad Experience
Now I know that there is no God in all the earth, except in Israel. 2 Kings 5:15
When I rear-ended a truck with my nearly new car, positive thoughts did not immediately come to mind. I was thinking primarily of the cost, the inconvenience, and the injury to my ego. But I did find some hope in this thought, which I often share with other writers: In every bad experience, theres a good illustration.
Finding the good can be a challenge, but Scripture confirms that God uses bad circumstances for good purposes.
In 2 Kings 5, we find two people who had bad things happen to them. First is a young girl from Israel who was taken captive by the Syrian army. Second is Naaman, the commander of the army, who had leprosy. Even though the girl had good reason to desire bad things for her captors, she offered help instead. Israels prophet Elisha, she said, could heal Naaman. Eager to be cured, Naaman went to Israel. However, he was reluctant to follow Elishas humiliating directions. When he finally did, he was healed, which caused him to proclaim that Israels God is the only God (v.15).
God used two bad thingsa kidnapping and a deadly diseaseto change Israels enemy into a friend. Even when we dont know why something bad has happened, we know that God has the power to use it for good.
His purposes will ripen fast,
Unfolding every hour;
The bad may have a bitter taste
But sweet will be the flower. Cowper

Hi Happy TGIF - will be wearing red for my outings today.
Someone inquired about my daughter in law - here she is (left) with her daughter - my granddaughter, redhead Summer & niece Meghan.
Had a nice dog hike & outing for dinner & later at Chili's to watch Cav's with my high school/college beau (5 years),
to the Picasa file of the event I set up. Pix of wildflowers, Jim, dogs etc.

Vegetable Tempura
Almost any vegetable can be cooked with tempura batter.
My favorites are zucchini, green beans, mushrooms, broccoli and sweet potatoes.
Happy FRYday, everyone!I have found that Hime Tempura Batter Mix is perfect, and easy to prepare.

Dolly! Do I sense a leeeeeeetle bit more than ‘friendship’ between you and Jim? It looks like a wonderful outing, and even the ‘furry kids’ enjoyed it! (Are those mushrooms edible?)

Picture of Jim & me at Farinaccis. He has same interests in photography & outdoor rugged hikes. So we had a nice outing. We have been friends since Jr. High years...50 years ago & were a "couple" for 5 years in HS & college. He is a retired pilot.

I love tempura - and it is SO easy to fix. Since I can’t eat shellfish, I only make vegetable tempura, and then poach a chicken breast, slice it and put it over a bowl of steaming hot rice, topped with the tempura.
A good dipping sauce is made with rice wine vinegar, soy sauce, grated ginger, a couple drops of sesame oil and some sliced green onions. (Mmmm, I’m getting hungry, now!)

I dont know if the mushrooms are edible.. I dont like mushrooms or asparagus.. two of the “delightful” produce offerings.. sorry vegetarian, aren’t I?
Jim & I have remained friends for the course of time. His wife had MS & 25 years ago he put off divorce to stick with her. I am very much in awe of him doing so. NOT easy. No kids & very rough relationship. I hadn’t seen him for a couple years & when I changed computers & email addy, lost contact with him for a time
She died last fall in fire... she set herself & home on fire smoking. Only had use of one forearm & hand & was NOT supposed to smoke when alone.. but did & the house & she were char/ashes. I attended Jim’s dad’s funeral a few weeks ago & caught up on his news & the story of his wife’s death. I dont take paper or watch news so missed the extensive coverage that this had.
He apparently was thoroughly investigated & cleared.
Not sure of future. We are both free & both have mom’s that we live with. He moved in with his parents the day his home burned down. He finally got the clearance on insurance from company (state farm) & will rebuild home but will sell it & so will be free to live almost anywhere
