Cats are Wonderful Friends
Gentle eyes that see so much,
paws that have the quiet touch,
Purrs to signal "all is well"
and show more love than words could tell.
Graceful movements touched with pride,
a calming presence by our side
A friendship that takes time to grow
Small wonder why we love them so.

Hi, Snarlin Cub Bear! (And a big WELCOME if this is your first visit! If it’s not - WELCOME, anyway!)

No, I captured that yorkie off Google Images! I think mine’s cuter - I’ll go to the other computer, and find a picture of her for you!

I'm so glad you have reached that "A-HA!" point! You start by just copying and pasting a few basic table commands around your graphic, and then slowly it sinks in, and you think - "hmmm, wonder what it would look like if I changed just a few numbers and substituted another background or color." THAT's when you start to 'get it'!

Thank you Billie! Did you see the ‘happy cat’ in 2163?

Oops! I thought you were going to make me go all the way back to post #2163, and then I realized you meant 3163. :) Yes! I just did - what a face on that kitty! I think his milk must have been sour or something. :)

What a sweet, pretty opening for Caturday, Amy! Very soft colors - and the poem is perfect! I like it a lot! A. LOT! :)

SnarlinCubBear, this is my little 'kid'

DOG

When God made the earth and sky,
The flowers and the trees,
He then made all the animals
And all the birds and bees,

And When his work was finished
Not one was quite the same.
He said, “I'll walk this earth of mine
And give each a name.”

And so he traveled land and sea
And everywhere he went
A little creature followed Him
Until its strength was spent.

When all were named upon the earth
And in the sky and sea,
The little creature said,” Dear Lord,
There is not one left for me.”

The Father smiled and softly said
“I've left you to the end.
I've turned my own name back to front
And call you Dog, my friend.”

JUST A DOG

From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a dog,"
Or "that's a lot of money for just a dog." They don't understand the
Distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for "just a
Dog."

Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog."

Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog," but I
Did not once feel slighted.

Some of my saddest moments have been spent with "just a dog," and in
Those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a dog" gave me
Comfort and reason to overcome the day.

If you, too, think it's "just a dog," then you will probably
Understand phases like "just a friend," "just a sunrise" or "just a
Promise."

"Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence of friendship,
Trust, and pure unbridled joy.

"Just a dog" brings out the compassion and patience that make me a
Better person. Because of "just a dog" I will rise early, take long
Walks and look longingly to the future.

So for me and the folks like me, it's not "just a dog" but an
Embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond
Memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.

"Just a dog" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts
Away from myself and the worries of the day.

I hope that someday they can understand that it's not "just a dog"
But the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a
Person."

I loved your cartoon, and this poem gave me goose-bumps (you know - the warm fuzzy kind), and I love that graphic, LJ. (I suppose he’s just a puppy.)

She is so precious, yorkie! You told me a while back you were going to find that pic and I’m glad SCB asked about it.
She is tiny like Charlie’s little dog! And that poem is just something out of this world. I loved that so much! I am going back outside after I eat a bite. So I will be in touch later. Thanks for letting us see Lindy!
