It is with the profoundest grief that I inform Free Republic that one of the most inspirational and influential FReepers has passed away. Alia was my wife for 28 years and through thick and thin, she was my bulwark. She was also a devoted member here and I believe an important contributor. She passed from this vale of tears this past night at 1 am. Please find a moment in your day today to remember her in prayer.

I didn't know Alia but I just looked at her home page (see the birds flying) and checked her postings. I was shocked to see that her last posting was;

If she was ill there was no sign of it. Was her passing sudden and unexpected?

Dear Lord...please welcome your child of God...Alia as she journeys into her final destination of Heaven. Forgive her all things so that she and her family may rest knowing she is home at last. Amen.

Dear Spunky, when she went to bed at 10:30 pm, she was perfectly fine, so far as I could see. She passed away in my arms at 11:50 pm. This happened with no more than suggestive signs that could have been interpreted any which way, as she did herself.

Prayers lifted for Alia and her family.
I was telling the folks who knew her over there that it's odd in that none of us on these forums ever meet each other in real life, but I nonetheless had such a vivid picture of Alia in my mind as this extraordinarily beautiful & supremely elegant woman because that was exactly the way she wrote. She really was a truly gifted woman; in addition to having a genuinely rare intelligence, the full life she managed to lead during her time on this earth allowed her an even rarer insight into human nature. Her posts were always such a wonderfully delicious treat for the mind!
So in addition to all of the other members here I too will be praying for you and the rest of her family BelegStrongbow, and I'll be asking God especially to make sure He gives you some extra strength to see you through this very painful time ahead. I really do feel that FR has lost a true light here, so I can only imagine that the darkness you surely feel right now must be quite overwhelming.
Godspeed that the very worst of this terrible loss will soon pass for you & that your heart can be lifted by the brightness of Alia's lovely spirit again soon through all the wonderful memories she left behind for you to cherish until you can see her again!
