The Scottish woman who became an Internet singing sensation after her performance on a British talent show said Friday she doesn't want fame to change her. Susan Boyle, 47, has said she's still the same humble girl next door despite her knockout singing on "Britain's Got Talent." She shocked and inspired the audience, judges, and Web watchers with her rendition of "I Dreamed a Dream" from the musical "Les Misérables" in the first round of the show. "I wouldn't want to change myself too much because that would really make things a bit false," she told CNN's "American Morning" on Friday. "I want to receive people as the real me, a real person."

Your impression tracks with Simon's own description of the Boyle audition. He says he thought the "little old lady" would last about three seconds. But then she started to sing. He describes it as "the most astonishing feeling" and says he's never felt anything like it in his life.
Here's the link to the brief interview:
What a talent! I hope she will be more than a flash in the pan.
Obviously you're a very generous person. But her voice is just incredible and I'm so happy for her that she's "made it" so to say. If she died tomorrow, she'd die happy. I'm sure she's had many disappointments in her life, to have Simon Boyle say she's extraordinary is quite a coup.
Actually HER last name is Boyle, don’t know about Simon. Perhaps it’s Legree.
ROTFL! That’s was hilarious!
Cool! I hadn’t read that, but it was written all over his face!
There has been a lot of philosophizing about her performance, and peoples' reactions to her, since this hit YouTube. Many have commented on just how shallow society is, when they want to totally dismiss someone, or raise someone up, based simply on their looks.
Susan, don't pluck a single eyebrow hair and stay the way you are. Just keep singing!
Simon has been one of the worst on AI.
I don't watch AI, but have heard about how the judges react to the contestants. That's why it was so satisfying to see his expression when Susan started singing. ;o)
I for one am sick of hearing about this Tranny, although I hope that he/she gets millions due to the suckers out there. Happy for his/her success, but will still turn off the telly whenever he/she is on.
I'd like her to re-do the whole Andrew Lloyd Weber catalog!
Better her than Sarah Brightman. I still think that she looks like Pat Buchanan in drag.
I believe this Scotslady will be listened to, long after it's Sarah who?
As fer her looks? Who cares?
(I also suspect there will be a whole lot of babies conceived with this gal's music in the background)
