As Portsmouth resident Betty Hill drove her mother home on Route 108 at 8 p.m. Sept. 7, 1977, she saw large red and green lights on what she believed to be a UFO as she neared Trickling Falls in East Kingston. Later as she was driving home, she saw another UFO with red and green lights following railroad tracks near Route 107.
Betty Hill's report of a UFO sighting is one of thousands she catalogued during her lifetime after she and her husband, Barney Hill, became known internationally for reporting they had been abducted by aliens in 1961 in New Hampshire's White Mountains.
The University of New Hampshire will host a public forum and celebrate the opening of the Betty and Barney Hill Collection exhibition Friday, April 17, 2009. The forum and exhibition highlight the couple's reported alien abduction in 1961, and Barney Hill's civil rights activism in New Hampshire in the 1960s.
The public forum, "Betty and Barney Hill: Tales of Alien Abduction and Civil Rights Activism in New Hampshire," begins at 1 p.m. in the Memorial Union Building, Room 334/336.
Following the forum, UNH celebrates the opening of the Betty and Barney Hill Collection exhibition with a reception at 3:30 p.m. in Milne Special Collections and Archives and The University Museum, Dimond Library, Level 1. All events are free and open to the public.

What a bunch of Rubble!
I take it you don’t understand why your post to me is stupid.
:)
I like to fish. Generally, I target large salwtater species that are a physical challenge as well as a mental challenge. Sometimes, however, it’s fun to go to my moms lake house and target the bluegills close to the beach.
I equate FR to my fishing. Generally I like to discuss stuff with the adults, but sometimes it’s also fun to play with the dopes, too.
Sawltater? OOPS. Saltwater for those who don’t get my tagline.
Of course not. Eveerybody knows that interstellar running lights are blazneb and frowseki.
chuckle/snort.
My view is always: What intelligent life would waste their time on a planet that points weapons at each other?
There is probably some space bouy or beacon beyond the solar system that says
DO NOT ENTER: IMMATURE SPECIES. ENTER AT OWN RISK.
You’ve drawn at least a couple out of the woodwork. Good.
in 1979 one evening there was a loud knocking at our door. A neighbor asked my dad to have me bring my telescope outside (I had a cheapie thing that had the power of a pair of binoculars). I got it and went outside where a number of neighbors had gathered. They were watching a pair of extremely bright lights that would appear to hover, then move very fast to another position in the sky. They would fade, then get really bright. I tried to look at them through the telescope but they were too bright. The next day the news said nothing had happened, but for a couple of days there were military helicopters flying around, which never happened at any other time. I later learned that this seems to be the same night as the Cash-Landrum incident, which occured only a few miles away. I didn't learn about that until a few years ago.
I have no idea what I saw, but I wasn't the only one who saw those things. But i guess I'm a dope anyway...
Cool, UFO’s have landing lights and jet exhaust.
You’d think spacement would have decent night vision, if they are so advanced.
never said anything about exhaust, only that i saw some odd, lights in the sky along with a lot of other people who saw the same thing. The thing was that these lights were doing things you wouldn’t normally expect from aircraft, balloons, or anything else normally up in the sky.
I read the “famous” account to which you referred, only it was a different year than your claim.
There were a lot of odd things going on around Houston back then. Actually there are a lot of odd things that go on in the sky all the time but people never notice them. I used to follow some website that tells you when things like the space shuttle or space station will be visible over your area. I always found it fun to be somewhere on a sunny day while a bright light streaks across the sky and all the people around me were oblivious to it.
Yeah, the GSOC webiste, i used to check that out, too, particurlarly for Iridium Flares. Where I live now, they are very difficult to see. Bummer. I don’t buy any UFO bs, though.
I don’t doubt you saw something. I do doubt it was space aliens. A military test? Probably.
Wkik said the cash landrum thing was 1980. Thanks for comenting on it, it was interesting.
BTW, I didn’t call you a dope. After this conversation, I’m glad I didn’t, because I sure don’t think you are.
what are iridium flares, and where are they visible?
A year or so ago I had seen a post here saying that the european shuttle would have a visble night flight, followed by the space shuttle a few minutes later catching up or separating from the space station (or some such order). I went out to a baseball field to watch. I was so hoping some curious cop would pull up and ask what I was doing so I could say I was waiting for my alien brothers to come and get me, show him where it would appear, then have the shuttles pass over! didn’t happen though
They are flashes of sunlight from Iridium (satphone) sattelites. Pretty bright 2-10 second flashes.
From this page (cool stuff!) http://www.heavens-above.com/?lat=34.065009&lng=-118.44258&loc=UCLA&TZ=PST
I found the link for all iridium flares in the next 7 days (note times are PDT) http://www.heavens-above.com/iridium.asp?Dur=7&lat=34.065009&lng=-118.44258&loc=UCLA&alt=0&tz=PST
cool. i’ll have to go check out whats visible in my area.
