SAN BERNARDINO, Calif.A San Bernardino man wielding an 8-foot-long chunk of lumber has been shot to death by a police officer.
Sgt. Dave Dillon says 47-year-old Penimina Sue had threatened his family Wednesday night and also threatened an officer with the piece of wood. The officer tried first to subdue the man with a Taser stun gun but it had no effect.
Dillon says the family called police because Sue was throwing items around the house and threatening to hurt people.

Was the taser not in working order or something? I can't imagine anyone could not be subdued by tens of thousands of volts of electricity.

Its also possible that the mention of the Taser is
just fiction introduced as a cya factor.

Or, it could be the cover story.

A shot to the leg or shoulder wasn't possible?
Why shoot to kill when the guy's only carrying a wood board?

More illegal alien crime and hijinx.

His parents could of at least put Sioux on his BC.

Sheesh, a guy wielding a 2x4 (it appears to be) is now considered so dangerous as to warrant using deadly force?
Give me a break!!!
What kind of LEO are we producing today that they cannot disarm someone like that???

Moral of the story - Don’t go to a gun fight with a piece of wood. You’ll lose.

The report says the man "advanced" on the officer. If he was charging him the officer may not have had the time to take careful aim but went for a center of mass shot. It is surprising how little time it take for someone running to close the distance between them and their target. IIRC, if they start running at you from about 15 yards away, you'll be lucky to get off 3 or 4 shots (let alone hit them, if you're moving away too).
Too bad we don't know what "advanced" means here, though...

Hero’s that are trained to shoot to stop suicides and who apparently don’t like men carrying a piece of wood very much either.

Ever notice that the liberals want an armed officer to stand his ground, but want an armed citizen to run away?
