.
I love Allison—she is so pretty and full of youthful exuberance. I just wish she would sing something softer, in a toned-down style, instead of always rocking it out.
She will definitely be in the Top Four.
Are you sure it’s not short for Liltasia?
I will be shocked if Lil goes home tomorrow, simply because the powers that be seem to be pushing her so hard...

This wasn’t Danny’s best performance imo. He could have gotten away with a George Jones song or even Cash’s song I Walk the Line. jmo
Danny looked like he was wearing Paula’s straight jacket.
Johnnie Carson?
I was disappointed by Danny tonight.
He and Scott seem to be playing to the evangelical crowd, always singing songs with “faith” or “angels” or “Jesus” in them. Not that there’s anything wrong with it!
I loved it when Mandisa and Melinda sang gospel, but with them it seemed natural.
With Scott and Danny, it seems a bit forced.
Anyway, they are nice Christian boys, and should get together backstage and perform an exorcism on Adam!
Do you think there’s actually chance that Gaydam is doing this deliberately, to tweak Middle America’s nose?
Wow...if that’s true.
Thanks again for all you do year after year for us on this thread. I just came back from such a depressing, horrific public meeting the BLM held where they announced they’re going to shut down a bunch of roads in the forest near Rogue River (Oregon) where I go mountain biking every weekend and have for many, many years...and you cannot know how sweet it is to sit down and read friends posting about one of my favorite shows: AI, that you steer, help and maintain, thanks again, Jonny.

How’d The Woz do?
My life would be immeasurably changed were it not for Jobs and The Woz.

That song is particularly interesting. Others have also performed it in amazing ways.
What comes to mind for me is Eric Burdon & The Animals rendition of Ring of Fire. It is an amazing rendition.
And I have to say, Adam Lambert who is not a country singer picked the right song for him to make it his own. It was right down the venue of the The Animals and their 1960s style. When Adam Lambert delivered it, he was definitely thinking of this style, the ideation of literal fire embedded into the sound vocals. I have to say, I am beginning to think that Simon doesnt know anything about music for his age group. He has very little sense of musical tradition, and meaning, and projection, and, for that matter, history of song and music.
Adams rendition tonight of this wonderful classic of music called Ring of Fire was absolutely on the mark it was fire itself. That is in part, the very idea of the song. I do not approve of drugs, but in part it was the 1960s and this was definitely an Animals cut of that song, and it was done perfectly.
Adam Lambert showed, not self indulgence as Simon would say, but genius for that song, and I think he even know some history of that classic.
Wonderful rendition, Adam, you got my vote, you have a genius in you. I don't give a damn if you wear black polish on your nails, damn good job, I would buy the song for sure.
no loss
I really do suspect them both messing with “the original” AND being particularly blatant with their “picks” - especially with the Drudge/NY Post article earlier today about the F4 being “pre-ordained” that it may well happen.
Of course they can also leave phone lines open “at least [read as long as necessary to get the intended results] 2 hours after the show ends” so they can still mess with the results even without the save...unless it were to be so blatant...that could be harder to swing.
DialIdol has Alexis, Allison, and Scott in the bottom three. I don’t think that site has it anywhere near correct this week.
I like it, but wish she would cover her arm once in a while and that dress was fugly.
Who let the gnats out? LOL
I liked it, too. I would put Megan and Allison at the top tonight.
I just tuned in for the elimination - I didn’t watch any of the show. Woz was in the bottom 2 but is safe.
No one can doubt Adam’s musicianship, and his grasp of music history. He is almost too professional for this competition.
However, he is too “out there” — too far from the mainstream, to be the American Idol.
I’ll admit he has the chutzpah necessary to be a star.
And his rendition of “Ring of Fire”, though it had old Johnny spinnin’ in his grave, was unique and mesmerizing.
That long, brown thing on the shoulder that smells is no 'stick'.
That doesn’t sound right.
Maybe Alexis, but not Scott and Allison.
