I came across this. Hope Simon does not leave it would not be the same show. I can see Kara trying to step into his shoes but she would get old fast as the brutal honest one. She will still be the broken record one. LOL

For the better part of a decade, audiences have equated the brutal honesty component of “American Idol” with Simon Cowell. But with only one year left in his contract, the longtime host says it may be time to put an end to his work with the American show.

“Most people do one show a year and I do three and they involve a lot of traveling,” Cowell told the Mirror on April 11. “One may have to go. I don’t know which one. That is the problem, I like all of them.
“I can’t imagine not doing ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and I can’t imagine not doing ‘X Factor.’ But I guess America is more likely to go because I have got one year under contract. Maybe that will be the end.”
He went on to explain how taking as many as four transatlantic flights a week for his role as judge on “Idol,” “X Factor” and “Britain’s Got Talent” has started to tax his energy and social life. He said he has not had time for dating, although there have been offers, since he split with Terri Seymour.

In addition, he told the British paper he plans to launch a new show next year.
Though he did not elaborate, the Web site imdb.com reports that Cowell has two projects in development, “a comedy centered on an aspiring singer who becomes a reality-show sensation,” and “a behind-the-scenes look at the 10 contestants vying to be the winner of a singing competition TV show.”
“There is a point where I am not sure we can keep this schedule up,” he said. “It takes longer and longer to make these shows because you have to put more into them, and I am not sure we can sustain me doing three shows a year, with the record label and the TV production company.
Speaking of Simon Cowell and Britain’s Got Talent...this clip is absolutely amazing!!
“Susan Boyle (remember that name) became a Web phenomenon after singing “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Miserables. The performance brought the audience to its feet and left the judges (including Simon Cowell) either speechless or in tears.
Before going on stage, Ms. Boyle admitted some self-deprecating facts about herself (she’s never been kissed and lives alone with her cat, Pebbles). For those reasons and more, audiences were expecting the female William Hung. They were wrong.”
Boy oh Boy...were they....ENJOY!!

Ping!
Must watch!
I checked the White House site and FOXNews.com this morning and I didn’t see any mention of Dear Leader making a speech tonight. Hopefully it was a false alarm.
Mr. Hopey-Changey is making a “major economic speech” today, but it’s late morning/early afternoon, not prime time.
I cried while watching this. I’m so happy for this lady - she deserves only the best. Her voice is amazing and I hope she succeeds in her quest to be a professional singer.
That is wonderful news! Thanks for the update. :)
Me too. *sniff*
I was hoping that someone on this thread had posted that. Thanks.
This is the FUNNIEST video I’ve seen with Simon. Sorry if it has already been posted.

So, we’re on for tonight?
Someone must have told President Obobo that he was making enemies among Idol fans with his 8 pm Tuesday Fireside Chats.
Yeah, pre empting the same show all the time doesn’t make for fams.
