Here’s a fairly current song that I think Megan could do.

If you go to iTunes and search American Idol, they have them all. “Put Your Records On” is worth buying. I actually did. It’s GOOD. Better when you don’t see her somehow (maybe not for the guys). Sounds like she is already famous. She is unique enough not to have to hit every note and she sure hits all the main ones.

LOL! I'm gonna remember that one!

She is unique enough not to hit every note...

SJ, you got to put that one in your list of quotes!

You misquoted me! :) All I meant was that she is so UNIQUE that if she misses a note along the way it seems to work. Check it out in audio only.

Rod Stewart’s a homely fellow without much singing skill, but in the 70s he sold a lot of records and seduced a lot of women!

"Misquote?" I like to think of it as creative editing! ;-)

I totally agree. Corky can miss a couple of notes and breeze right by because she would just be another average singer if she hit all of them!

And on the projection screen behind them is usually some Three Stooges spoof at some point during their show!

ROTFL!

American Idol 8: Michael Sarver Bids Goodbye to the Oil Rig

http://www.buddytv.com/articles/american-idol/american-idol-8-michael-sarver-27390.aspx

Eliminated American Idol finalist Michael Sarver began his trip to the top—yeah, we all know this already—as an oil rig worker somewhere in Texas, who dropped by to audition. The rest, as we all say, is history—he went to the Top 36, then to the Top 13, and found himself eliminated after doing something bad off a Motown song.

But, obviously, that doesn’t mean Michael will be consigned to history, either. If he had his way, he’d bid goodbye to something totally different: the oil rig. He’ll be abandoning his former career to pursue one in the music industry.

“There is something that America does not know about me,” he told reporters after he was eliminated. “I am a serious writer. I have written over 890 songs since the age of 14. There is a lot of stories, a lot of life, a hard-lived life and a good-lived life … and I’m going to share it.”

“I plan to record, I plan to get my music out there,” he added . “I believe that because I’ve made it so far in the competition, it shows me there are people who respect and appreciate what I have, and I’m going to give them even more.”

His plan is to release a pop solo album with hints of R&B, combining the styles of Justin Timberlake and Gavin DeGraw (whose breakout hit, “I Don’t Wanna Be”, served as his ticket to the Top 13). His first priority, however, is to return home to Jasper, Texas and spend time with his wife Tiffany, and his two kids.

“I learned just how much I love my family because I’ve never been away from them that long,” he said “They deserve my undivided attention.”

There’s no word, however, if he was offered a record deal after his stint on Idol.

FYI...NY Post has an interesting article about the odd relationship between Paula & Kara..how they basically ignore each other.

I have seen many comments that there are two many judges. Randy has street cred in the industry and Simon is 75% of the show. So the gals probably think one of them will go.

Paula seems more wordy and animated this year. No comment on content. But she could be worried.

Thanks, ken.

For the life of me I can not understand why AI felt it necessary to bring Kara on. IMO, she is not adding much to the mix. In fact she seems to more a detriment. Comments coming from four judges takes up WAY too much time. I am no huge Paula fan, but she does add much needed comic relief, and who can argue her on/off chemistry with Simon.

That’s interesting, especially with the whole, “Oh, we are awesome friends!!” stuff from before the season started.

I posted an article a while back that said 1) Paula had asked for more money and 2) that she wanted to leave and do a talk show. I think bringing Kara in was to defuse Paula asking for more money, indicating that she could be replaced. jmo

Interesting ... could very well be the case. Kara replacing Paula would hurt AI ratings, IMO. Can not believe Paula could ever carry off a talk show though. :)

Oh BABY have I missed you FRiends! I don’t even care if the show is on tonight!—I miss the mental health break that the comedy routines we all provide eachother, bring.
You are all truly a breath of fresh air, amid the utter crappolla surrounding us with the Idiot in Chief and his band of monkeys. Im so glad to see you, I dont even care if Lil rounds tries to do Streisand! LMAO (Ok,,,,that is a bit over the top, even for me ;-)
