.
My picks from last night... Awesome Allison, Always entertaining Adam, Adorable Danny (love him), Matt. Liked Kris, Scott was ok, but come on..don't patronize him.
I didn't 'get' Lil Rounds' performance and the 0bama reference scared me..thanks to the poster who explained she was really saying 'move over 0', tho I wanted her to do well cause she has a cute family!
Michael's never really impressed me, but he is ok. Anoop... sorry folks, I just didn't see anything last night..very boring.
I didn't think about that last night, but I bet you're right. Before he performed, Seacrest even said: "You think you know what to expect from Adam Lambert?"
LMAO!!!
LOL!!
I would add Sarver to the Full of Fail list.
The wife was out of town last night so we have the show in TiVo but I did watch Adam’s performance. Absolutely unbelievable. That joker is incredibly talented and as close I have seen to Jeff Buckley who is one of my all-time favorites. I thought his performance last night was one of the best I have seen on Idol. I couldn’t care less if he’s flamboyantly gay or whatever. He is a hell of a singer and performer. Freddie Mercury was way over the top but one of the top 5 voices in rock music history.
Get out!!! How cool!! I can't wait to hear your report!
Well, white men can't jump, and most white folks shouldn't sing Motown...
I actually like Megan's voice..though last night's performance was pretty bad. She has a low register, smoky voice..she's a cabaret singer..wonder if she can sing "scat"...I'd like to her her sing a few Gershwin tunes..
Question for the group: How/when is the order of performance decided? Do they draw numbers? If the producers assign the order, is it after they hear the first rehearsals? Allison was outstanding, but I'm trying to recall the last time someone who was in the bottom three the previous week got the pimp spot the following week?
FYI.. Here's an interview in today's NY POST with Alexis Grace. She's very gracious ( like the pun?) and I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up on the AI tour somehow..
Scott MacIntyre 6-10 (B3) Megan Joy Corkrey 7-10 (B3) Michael Sarver 8-10 (B3)
Seriously? I haven't heard about that.
There are already two that I know of. One on TV Guide Channel (hosted by Justin Guarini and Kimberly Caldwell) and one soon to start on Fox Reality Channel, hosted by Ace Young.
Dave passed away about 2AM. He seemed to be resting a lot more comfortably last night than earlier in the day. I like to think that everyone's thoughts and prayers helped to ease his passing.
He was a good man and a great husband to my mom and a wonderful step dad.
LOL
This is the first time that I have not seen the show, but am reading the comments and I now fully understand what Wolfstar and others that don't see the show until later mean about reading the replies before hand. The images that your comment brings to mind are scary! hahaha
My continued prayers for you and your family.
G'morning, Jonny. Billboard's review was frank and honest. Had to have an impact because, after all, the ultimate goal of Sony-BMG/19 Entertainment is to make records that hit on Billboard charts.
I replayed Adam's performance at least half a dozen times. Aside from the fact that he reminded me strongly of Kurt Russell in the movie 'Elvis,' Lambert's understated performance was beautiful -- for a change. If all those backhanded references by the judges about clean face, classy look, no nail polish, straightening up the song, etc., get through to him, this guy is going to win the competition hands down.
There really isn't anyone even remotely close to him, talent wise, and there hasn't been for the last two or three seasons. But the question for me is this: is he marketable in pop-rock? I guess we'll see as he progresses through the competition.
One other thought. This is Lambert's one big chance to climb up out of the gutter. I'm hoping he does it.
I’m so sorry, Netizen. Prayers and sympathies to your family.
I am so sorry, Netizen. My God rest his soul, and may He bring comfort and peace to those who loved him.
Oh, Netizen. I'm so very sorry for you, your mom and your entire family. I send you my warmest concern and condolences, and will pray that God comforts you and your family.
That's the big question. IMO, no. Someone said it last night, he's a niche performer.
Heres my take on last nights night of mediocrity.
1-Allison Joplin - Papa Was A Rolling Stone By far the best singer in this group. Shes almost as good as Melinda Doolittle but has the age to keep her fresh.
2-Danny Downy Jr. - Get Ready Hes like this years Taylor Hicks. Hes always good and a very likeable dude.
3-Matt Lets Get it On This guys got a good voice. He reminds me of Eliot Yamin but not as good of voice. Hes got better teeth and I think a pretty good fan base.
4-Anoop 7-11 - Ohh baby baby I wish hed do something upbeat. This guy puts me to sleep every week. He sings well, but come on!!
5-Scott Wonka - You Cant Hurry Love I like him at the piano and really want him to do well. But hes not living up to our expectations.
6-Kris - How Sweet it Is Likable guy, fair voice but I dont see him staying because Matt and Danny have him beat.
7-Michael Oil-dude - Aint to Proud To beg May have sang his last song. I liked it but I fear Mike will be the fall guy for sweet Alexis going home last week.
8-Lil Fantazer - Heatwave Please stop kidding us with shes got a great voice. Shes average. Even her Idol Fantazer said SHES rooting for Danny and not Lil. And lose the Im entitled to it attitude! Puh-Leeze!!
9-Adam Ram-butt - Tracks of my tears Sang like his testicles were caught in a vice. He was on pitch, but Im not ready for the BeeGees meet The Jonas Brothers in a drag show yet.
10-Megan No-Joy (Gangrene Arm) - For Once In My Life Horrible. Who said this girl could sing?? Really?? Shes just horrible every week and she doesnt have the flu to fall back on this week. Shes gotta go ASAP!!
Dial Idol has Micheal, Meg and Scott on the bottom.
Lil-Obama has her Obama voters to keep her safe so Im guessing that Michael will go home as punishment for him staying when Alexis went home. But really, the Joy would be to send Megan Joy home!
I’m so sorry for your loss. God bless you, your mom and family.
Lil needs to take some humble lessons from Melinda.
