Kris Allen
Kris performs immediately after Adam.
His song is a repeat too, I think. "Ain't No Sunshine".
He performs at the piano. Much more down-to-earth performance than Adams. No fog. No trenchcoat. No theatrics. Just good singing.
He gets a standing-O as well.
Randy: This is the funny thing about you. I can tell exactly what kind of artist you are. One of your best performances EVER on this stage. Yes, YES!
Kara: If a Kris Allen performance doesn't move you, there's something wrong with you. Feels like your singing to US.
Paula: Kris you awaken the spirit in all of us. Allen-izing your songs.
Simon: This is a competition. When your name was announced last week, I wasn't sure that America made the right choice. But I absolutely take that all back after that performance.
Seacrest asks Simon who wins round 1.
Simon: I'm going to call that one for Kris.

Judges -next round goes to Lambert..and last one goes to Lambert..and if that doesn’t happen I will be shocked...unless they are trying to get the sympathy vote for Lambert and make him an underdog
