The show starts off with the cast of "Night of The Museum II" (Ben Stiller etc.) doing a parody of their movie, saying that the Judges' Desk is now in the Smithsonian.
"This is the desk where Paula Abdul has said such encouraging words as "You're amazing", "I love what you're wearing", "Where am I?"
The show begins live and Seacrest says the Judges' desk is really going to the Smithsonian. Move over, Wright Brothers.
He also teases us by saying "If you think you know how the finale will stack up, think again." Hm.
