I'm sure this will get a lot of play on MSNBC and CNN today.

Stopping teen sex? Ain't gonna happen.
Gotta agree with her there. Reducing it is realistic.

Palin raised a kid that has her own opinions. What a scandal.

Getting support from your family is very important when you go through difficult times. Maybe Bristol should try a little harder to give some.

Yeah? And kids who get bad grades say a 4.0 "isn't realistic". So what? Since when did we let what teenagers think is or isn't realistic influence what's right?

Reducing it is realistic. Keeping expectations high does reduce it. Just because some folks have sex before marriage doesn't change the ideal is to wait until marriage. Further, I don't know a single person that holds the view that sex should wait until marriage that believes no one will get pregnant outside of marriage.

Democrats will be quick to take abstinence advice from an unwed teen mother.

Sarah needs to give Bristol the Don Corleone talk, “ I have a sentimental weakness for my children and I spoil them as you can see. They talk when they should listen.”
“Never tell anyone outside of the family what you’re thinking again.”

I’m not saying that abstinence shouldn’t be the goal, only that isn’t realistic to think it will stop teens from having sex.

Of course from the entire Greta interview with Sarah and Bristol, where important comments on the porkulus and censorship doctrine were made, ONLY this will get spouted by the MSM.

I guess you didn't get the email. The thing to be avoided with teens is making them mad by telling them what they can and cannot do. Any parent should try to avoid this at all costs - because we don't want to have an angry teenager running around being told what to do. Teens need the freedom to make lots of big mistakes early in life, otherwise they might get angry because someone told them what to do.

For thousands of years people have started having sex around the same age. Puberty drives the urge. It is as natural as breathing, eating and sleeping. It is when the natural body feels the need. Can’t change that.

What makes you think Christian’s and others who hold this view expect no child to get pregnant? What makes you think Christian’s and others who hold this view keep their kids ignorant about birth control methods?
Many kids I went to HS with were sexually active and got pregnant and many ended them in abortions. Even my best friend brought his 15 year old girlfriend to NY (one of the two states it was legal) to have an abortion and I know for a fact he had condoms and his girlfriend had free BC pills from planned parenthood. It happens with education, with pills and with condoms.

“Hollywoods morals are raising our young people.”
Exactly, and we also have Hollywood to thank for the the Muslim hatred. I listened to a lecture by a Christian man that was raised as a Muslim in Lebanon. He grew up hating Jews and Christians. He is now a Christian, reaching out to the Muslim world.
He said Muslims love watching American movies and they think all Americans behave just like the characters in their movies.....

"It was my choice to have the baby," she said. "It doesn't matter what my mom's views are on it. It was my decision." Therein lies the problem. Selfishness. Not considering the experience of those that know more than she does. 'Pod.

Never tell anyone outside of the family what youre thinking again.
The older I get, the more I see the wisdom in this. I am talking to myself as well. The older I get, the more I tell everyone what I think. But, I don’t mind telling Freeper family what I think!

Exactly!!! I raised my son with the knowledge that pre marital sex would cause nothing but heartache, and problems. That you should only have sex within the confines of a long term relationship. I said all the right things knowing full well that after being with his girlfriend for almost two years, the most I could hope for was that they were practicing safe sex.
I did not allow overnights, etc. but to "forbid" it is a exercises in futility. I honestly do not know if my now adult son is a virgin, and I don't want to know (really) but I also did not spend 24 hours a day with him.
The most you can hope for when raising children is that they grow up to be well adjusted, moral, adults. But part of growing up is making your own decisions, and unfortunately your own mistakes. In my case, so far, so good. I have a college freshman (now a single college freshman) that made the Deans list in his first semester!

Yeah, her own opinions.
Too bad she’s (if this article interprets her correctly) an idiot.
