PLACE YOUR BETS. HOW MANY SENATE "REPUBLICANS" VOTE FOR OBAMA'S PORK-FEST?

Posted on 01/30/2009 3:28:30 AM PST by wny

I say 30 minimum, with McCain leading the way.

I hope every Freeper will do the same and contact their Senators.

I'm in Virginia. I wouldn't pi$$ on them if they were on fire let alone bother to phone the offices of the two reprobates.

Why should a bunch of elitist, pompous windbags who haven’t done an honest day’s work in their entire miserable millionaire lives suddenly find the voice of the common folk. No, these DemonRats and RINOS that inhabit this dark hole are made of the same tattered cloth. May the plague descend upon them and may they be stricken from this world!

This is precisely the type of apathy that got us in the mess we are in. Folks said the same thing about the amnesty bill, but look what happened when people got involved! The rebellion has to start somewhere.....

The two from Maine are gimme’s. We all know they will vote with the democrats, they always do. I say Hatch , Graham,I believe McCain will pass on this one.

OK, I'll phone Webb and Warner. Shall I also send a Forget-Me-Not bouquet to Obama?

Apologies for being rude, and I do understand the point you wish to make, but do you really believe Webb and Warner have any intention of not voting for this?

10% chance “maverick” McCain leads a cleaning of all extraneous pork from the bill- and then leads about 30 Republicans to vote for it.

90% chance about 10 republicans vote for it after a phony face-saving removal of insignificant pork.

Snow yes. Collins no. Snow voted yes in committee.

McCain will not vote Yes for this pork laden earmark bill.

My bet is four without changes and at least a dozen if they get minor changes.

No and FWIW, I think Alexander and Corker will probably vote for it, too. However, if you don't voice your opinion against this measure they will assume that you support it. Remember, the only thing that congresscritters really care about it getting re-elected. It was abundantly clear that the amnesty bill was going to pass until enough people got involved and killed it. The same thing can happen here. Sitting around and doing nothing, except complaining here on Free Republic, is the quickest way to ensure this boondoggle does pass.....

Let’s see: Snowe and Collins from Maine; Graham from SC; Hatch from Utah; maybe one other. Call me an idiot, but I’m thinking McCain votes no.

Just saw McCain on F&F and he said he will vote no.(But I am not going to bet on it)

In 27 minutes, at 9am, I will phone the offices of Senators Webb and Warner and submit this Virginia voter's opinion.

Awesome!

If by some miracle this boondoggle gets delayed through filibuster, or better yet, shot down, it will set the tone for the rest of this Congress. People must make their opinions known!

They must hate our great country. There’s absolutely no business case for this $800,000,000,000.00 monster. Many items in the bill are beyond ridiculous, they’re insulting.

I would say the over/under has to be 5. The two idiots from Maine are a gimme. If McCain says he is voting against it than that means Graham is too. He doesn’t go to the bathroom without checking with McCain. Hagel probably votes ‘yes”, unless he’s sore about not being picked for Obama’s cabinet. That leaves only two more.

All of them. They will “compromise” and get a few things they want into the bill then claim victory, all the while voting for it. That is how they usually do things.
