Folks from the NE have always laughed at southerners and said we talked slow because we thought slow and they called us dumb. I never heard any of them say Jackie O was dumb because she talked slow. Just one more double standard.

Do you remember Hillary's midnight-blue inaugural gown?
I just saw a picture of it today, and was extremely impressed by how good she looked.

Presidents Reagan, Bush41 and Bush 43 did not do anything in the Oval office without a suitcoat on....part of their respect for the office......guess we can kiss that kida good-bye by this Obama pic in shirt sleeves....(idiot!)

Great idea!!! As a southern belle myself, I can’t believe I didn’t think of it my self, honey.
To: GOP_Lady
Thanks.
I don't think we should add 'bless her heart'. Sounds like we're a bunch of old ladies.

I haven’t had this much fun reading a thread since the old days of The Guild. Thanks for starting this.

We have to be “inclusive!” ;-)

In the South, what “well bless her heart” means, depends upon how it is said.
We had the best fun teaching visitors from Great Britain how to use the phrase. I’m proud to report that by the time they went home, they had it perfectly.

"At a church service yesterday, she channeled Mamie Eisenhower in a '50s-style housewifely dress. The black and green Chinoiserie print, with a three-quarter length sleeve and a full skirt, was created by New York designer Tracy Feith." That's how I see it. Not at all appropriate for FLOTUS at that type of church service.
Thanks for the link.

Methinks the author of that article has been lurking here and copied some of the comments that were first made on this thread.
