I noted that,,I think it was the color. Laura looks better in strong vivid colors. I do not like her in greys and subtle light colors.
And I noticed I hate those coats over dresses that they wore on the inauguration,,no hooks or buttons and both Laura and Michelle were tugging them shut all the time,,I don’t like that.
The social secy is from NO and was Queen of Zulu twice and has an MBA.
She is top drawer NO black society,,no slouchy there.
JJill is great,,a little more youthful than Talbots. Don’t let her near ANthropologie,,love the clothes but expensive. The closing of some of these stores will be sad,,BTW I have been in the J Crewe stores, not the catalogue and I like the sweaters but was vaguely disappointed. My girls love Ann Taylor Loft.
It is a pleasure to have watched them go fro no clothes,,they wore uniforms in school, never changed either over the years, brown tie shoes and blue jumpers. Then college and all they wore was jeans.
When my youngest went for her first grad school interview,,she didn’t own a dress or a suit. I sent her to Talbots and they dressed her from head to toe,,she looked fabulous. Since then she has loved shoes and clothes and bags. It was fun to watch as they all did that. None of them were into clothes till the end of college. Vanity comes late in our family.
Well really she looks like a woman who doesn’t have a deep wardrobe.
She could use some help.
To be fair, that’s really what it looks like and well, it’s just not nice to rub it in.

Oh yeah! Provocative and tramp are two different things.
According to my mother, she sounded like a shrew. My mother took a serious dislike to her from what she told me years ago, which was of course years after the fact.
I hope Nana is as happy being there as they are. ;-) You couldn’t have kept my mother from my son. That was fortunate, as I had to direct my energies to supporting them both.
My son and I had the best “Mother” in the world. She was a corker, but her heart was true, her faith unshakable and her love (except when she was angry [then the earth quaked]) was unfathomable, her sense of humor was unparalleled. We miss her more every day.
I was too young to remember the original tour, but did see it years later. It was that rebroadcast that prompted my mother’s comments about Jackie. “not the brightest of bulbs” was one of the more charitable descriptions my mother gave of her :)
I'm glad she loves her kids - all kids deserve love and attention.
But, as the media hacks have consistently pointed out regarding the Palin family, if you put yourself out there you are fair game..... so game on!
***We will not see any such skit this weekend or ever on SNL....***
Yeah, but you made me laugh imagining it!
You ought to start a weekly thread entitled “This Week’s Not SNL Skit.”
Please add me to the ping list! This thread should keep us in stitches for the next four years. ;)
Princess Di wasn’t a two-tripper in the hauling @ss department. It must be a tough job trying to dress MO.
You can’t see class in Michelle b/c she doesn’t have any. In order to have class, one must be courteous and graacious and possess inner beauty.
But Michelle need not worry. The new administration with undying loyal support from the sycophants in the main stream media will no doubt redefine the word “class”.
The color is a matter of personal preference, and the accessories were a good choice for what she preferred.
It was the cut. To be fair, Mrs. Bush looked overwhelmed by her outfit. Too much gray, too much fabric, too loose.
The cut is the key.
