The one thing that would make a sack look great is posture. Mrs. Obama is a tall, beautiful woman who needs to stop thinking about her height in relation to others and concentrate on her own graceful presentation. At 6'2” in heels, I learned that lesson long, long ago and far away. I carried myself (and still do) with my own self-worth on display — not my partner's. She (and her daughters when they hit their stride) should always walk with grace and dignity.
Did you get my ping request GOP_Lady?
Even Janet Reno looked more stylish than Michelle.
You are added, InsensitiveConservative and xsmommy! :-)
She had a designer during the campaign (until the Palin incident) ?! Wow, couldn’t tell, imo.
Well, she needs a clothes handler, poise coach and etiquette coach. Badly.
Please add me to the ping list. Should be a fun one!
The yellow dress with green gloves and shoes looked like something out of the 60's without the pill box hat - but in 20/30 degree weather the coat should have closed down the front to give her some protection from the elements.
The ball gown would have been fine without the puffy things which someone correctly claimed made it look like a chenille bedspread.
But I'm sure you would have been lovely in the outfit - although I doubt fashion editors would have been so kind as to call you "forward thinking" or "bold"...they would have been saying exactly what we are saying today - hideous and bad choices.
Thanks. It will become my “what not to wear” list.
I also spit my tea on my keyboard!!!
Thank you, GOP_Lady for the Michelle Fashion Police thread.
It’s now quite evident, that you’re going to be very busy over these next 4 years!
I think Michelle’s dress today, looks like the results of my cleaning rag after I’ve cleaned the oven.
Maybe you have to see the dress in person to appreciate it, but it reminded me of the white chenille bedspreads my grandmother used to have.
I think she is trying to look feminine, but she doesn’t have the build for it.
I don’t know why she doesn’t just wear tailored suits.
My 12 year old daughters and I were looking at the dresses (and gowns) that the first ladies have worn throughout the years. All 3 of us agreed that Laura Bush in 2005 had the best outfit. It was a simple winter white suit. (We also agreed that Hillary’s black coat from 2001 was the worst.)
Potato sack ping.
You are added, ozarkgirl! :-)
“The fabric, on the other hand. What is that?”
Sack cloth with kool-aid stains I think.
LOL at “First Frump”!
I made some window valances with a fabric sort of like that once, about 18 years ago....
Next thing we might see from Michelle’s designer is one of those gowns made out of condoms. LOL
I loved Laura’s 2005 dress and Hillary’s 1997 dress. Both were Oscar de la Renta.
