Now there is an American treasure and the only example of talent being passed down in the genes. From N. C. Wyeth to Andrew Wyeth to Jamie Wyeth, over 100 years of great art. I have never seen another family produce three consecutive generations of artistic genius the way this family has.
God bless them.

Sad news. My husband’s parents were friends of his sister Henriette Wyeth and her husband Peter Hurd. A really talented bunch of people.

I was not aware he was still living.Same here. Mr. Detra, a HS teacher of mine, would not be happy with me for not knowing!
Wyeth was one of the few whose work I actually considered art. I was very critical in my "art appreciation" class. Thankfully, Mr. Detra was cool with opposing viewpoints.

My all time favorite also. My dog looks just like that only he sleeps at the foot of the bed.

In this Nov. 15, 2007 file photo, painter Andrew Wyeth, of Chadds Ford, Pa., right, laughs with President Bush as he receives the 2007 National Medal of Arts during a ceremony in the East Room of the White House in Washington. Wyeth has died at the age of 91 at his home outside Philadelphia according to Hillary Holland, a spokeswoman for the Brandywine River Museum. (AP Photo/Gerald Herbert, file)
