I’ve been a Danny Fan since his first audition. He can sing, and being a decent, humble guy helps a lot, too. And yes, my Freeper son and I picked Clay and Ruben for the finals in Season 2, as well as David Cook last year. I won’t jinx Danny, but I know who I like. :-)

My top 3:
Danny
Alexis
Brent

I think Danny’s going to win this year, my pick from the auditions. He’s crazy talented, appealing, nice and seems to have a good sense of perspective.

I hate to say it, but Tatia-toons can sing. But her personality is just too much to take. Yikes.

Anoop is doing really well!!
He needs to be in the top 12 so he can work with the stylists.

Step 1 - eyebrow wax. Lots of it

Based on the last several years, yeah.

It doesn’t mean I would vote that way. But I can see the way the winds blow.

Did you hear when that one (even with only 12, I can’t remember names) when she said “I first saw AI when I was 9 years old...”

9??????

Holy crap, we’re old!!!!

oh sheesh! Simon liked her

Sometimes Simon plays reverse psychology. If he would have been too hard on her, VFTW might have kicked in a bunch of votes for her.

I think Tat-hyena was on some major tranquilizers tonight. She was so calm but in a very weird way.

I would be a little ticked if I were in the first group. How are you going to keep the 2nd and 3rd groups from practicing their songs?

My daughter said the same thing. I wonder if the themes will be different and they just haven't told the other groups what they are yet?

*snort!* LOL! Ah, I needed a laugh after watching tonight....

Am I getting old and jaded or is it just the effects of chasing after two toddlers 24-7? I was not overly impressed with anyone's performance tonight. (Though I did LOL over Jackie Tohn's outfit -- good gravy! My husband, who hails from Long Island, contended that both she and the outfit were "very New Yawk." I thought she just looked like she was channeling the '80s. And no one with even a tiny tummy should wear Spandex pants!)

Alexis really is a dark horse, though I personally did not connect with her performance. I wanted to be as excited about Danny Gokey as the coked-up (well, apparently coked-up!) judges were, but I thought Simon was right -- it was good but not the Second Coming. So far I'm just ... blah. Didn't even vote tonight.

Oh, and how incredibly annoying is it that Nutcase Tatiana actually sang pretty well tonight? TANJ. VFTW might just manage to get her up to the next level. Ugh! And the judges' baiting her, trying to get her to *be* a nutcase again for their amusement... that was ugly.

Now having seen their performances, I will still pick Danny (our next American Idol) at the top male. Michael's song choice wasn't overwhelming, but he might edge out Anoop for that coveted #3 slot. We'll see how strong Anoop is with the youngsters.

Brent has a great look and name for country, but he's been too much under the radar to build a fan base and his song choice didn't help.

Stephen's performance was a'ight, as was Ricky's, but neither will move on.

Onto the women, this side is much more topsy-turvy. I had Casey (the new bikini girl) as the top pick, and she may still make it through on her looks, but her horrendous song choice may very well knock her out.

So my #1 female pick is now... GULP... Tatiana. For better or worse, she's the star on the female side based on all the drama and has gotten way too much attention, so she'll get more votes than we realize.

My wildcard pick of Stevie just blew up after her disappointing performance, and we've learned that Simon hasn't been impressed with her during Hollywood week, so no chance at a wildcard.

So now a wildcard may go to Alexis, who was a rare bright spot on the women's side.

Jackie was OK, Ann Marie was passable.

So now my revision goes (and mind you, this is based on my predicitions of the voters, not personal preference)...

Group 1:
Top Male: Danny (all the way)
Top Female: Tatiana (gulp... the drama continues)
Number 3: Michael (by a hair)
Wildcard: Alexis
outside shot: Anoop, Casey

Paula’s hairstyle was very distracting today. I also wanted to reach over and wipe some of that extra makeup off her face.

This song CAN’T be reinterpreted — the lyrics have meaning and the substance will always Aretha.

I believe Carole King wrote it, and put out a good version of it herself, actually: a very hippie woman 60s version that really did work.

But it should be BANNED from American Idol forever!

Lionel Ritchie is on the list as well

Take him off the list: didn't Cokkie last season do a steamy hot version of "Hello" that Ritchie actually wanted him to record?

My votes tonight (we each get only 3 votes in this house, LOL): Downey Jr, Anoop, and bleeding-hair white girl who sings soul.

Kara needs to back off from the mike. She hurts my ears. I am waiting for her to have feedback a la the Mohan-Culp Middle School Music Teachers on SNL a few years back...

Dial Idol has Danny, Alexis and Sarver.

I think that's about right based on last night's performances.

You know, I don’t speak Spanish, but I’m going to go out on a limb that might mean formaldehyde.

First thing I thought too! Hope it gets better, but hey at least your nails are preserved. ;)
