Hello,Silent One:)
Hello,Silent One:)
Oops,make mine a double...post,(hicup)!
Wasn't she the one who lived with her mother and a cat in one room and was going to take up actressing?
Yep that's her.
Who are your favorites so far? I like the girl from the Louisville audition that had a previous record deal. I’ll have to find her name.
Joanna Pacitti.
One of the girls tonight, the Ally Sheedy look alike--I think her last name was Tohn. She could be interesting.
Ann Marie Bockovich (sp?)--she might go far too.
Thanks, guys! He was just a know-it-all who jumped in like he knew what he was talking about, when he didn’t.
When ya do that on the Levin thread, ya get guff!
When ya pick on the good guys, you get clobbered :)
Did you see the group song in Season 2 (Ruben, Clay, Marine Josh Gracin) right after the start of the Iraq War in 2003? They all sang Lee Greenwood’s “God Bess the USA” - each of those kids had tears in their eyes as they sang the finale. Seacrest said it was so good that they went right into the studio and recorded it.
It was great.
FReepers are the best.
Some FReepers are better than others.
Sadly I did not see that. I was not an American Idol fan until Season 4.
Thanks for the clarification. I did not see that show “Lies” and after seeing the thoughts of great FRiends such as yourself, I will not ever waste my time. I do love AI though. I pray that the show continues to be entertaining for all to enjoy and have a mental health break.
You know, there are 100's of very talented people who never get before the judges. I personally know (and have heard) a beautiful young music major from University of Virgina who sang acappella. She went to an audition and never got to perform for any pre-judge or the "Big three (now big 4)" Her voice blows away 99% of the hollywood bound.
Fantasia 21? That’s unbelievable....She sux so bad.
She sure does. It helps to realize that most of her #1's were on relatively obscure Billboard charts. The charts are really nothing more than a form of database or series of spreadsheets that track sales and radio airplay. Various data sets from retailers, music download sites, and radio stations feed into the obscure non-public Billboard charts. The resulting data feeds into the cumulative totals on the big public charts. So being #1 on some obscure non-public chart has relatively little meaning.
The big six public charts are the ones that really matter, and Fantasia has only one #1 on any of those. An example of a #1 she has on an obscure chart is that her 'Truth Is' was #1 on the Billboard Hot Adult R&B Airplay chart. Like...who cares.
'Truth Is' was the second single released off her debut album. It was release in 2004, and her recording career has been going downhill since then. I think 'Truth Is' was her last top 10 song. Her most recent single, release in 2007, peaked at #36 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
Thanks...that makes more sense.
You're welcome. The particuarly delicious irony about Fantasia is that the season she won, a far better singer named Jennifer Hudson was in the top 10, but got booted out too soon. A couple of years later, Fantasia and Jennifer competed for the same role in 'Dreamgirls.' Jennifer won, and went on to win the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
So far, though, Jennifer's recording career hasn't taken off, although a single released from the 'Dreamgirls' soundtrack went to #1 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop chart. I think she's going to release a full album later this year and, given the tragedy of her family being murdered plus her Oscar, interest in the album should be very high.
I dislike the cyclops even more than I dislike those darned cavemen!!
