I’m hoping they leave ‘Before He Cheats’ alone (unless Lambert does it of course!) To me that song is already ‘classic’ and one of those that would be hard to improve upon. jmo

As a country fan, I think there are a lot of good songs on that list...that said, I’d imagine most of the contestants know mainly the Carrie Underwood songs...hope we don’t get a glut of those next week.
I’d forgotten that Kelly was coming to our state fair this summer...I may have to take in her show-the last time I saw her in concert she rocked!

That reaction by Faith Hill to Carrie’s win was so uncalled for & poor sporty,another reason not to like her.

When you mentioned the Daughtry example, I thought the same thing! The new rule would have not applied because it was the final 4.
As for Jennifer Hudson....Simom now blames “us” for voting her off but Simon never gave her a good review after her songs. He was always picking on her “looks.” The judges were also pimping Fantazer so much that Jennifer got “lost” in the mix.
Regarding Jennifer Hudson, am I the only person in America who doesn’t think there was any “mistake” in voting her off the show? She was at the time a “one trick pony” — all she could do was “belt”, and there was no versatility whatsoever. Fine for the stage (or a movie musical), but not going to cut it as a “pop” recording artist.
Would I have picked that specific week to vote her off? No, but I had her in the “danger” zone at least a week beforehand...

At least it's not as horrible as we all thought it would be. It's still sort of dumb. None of the people they mentioned would have been saved except for Jennifer Hudson (who I think went 6th). They are still just ticked Taylor Hicks won.

There are some really classic songs on that list that you know some people are going to butcher. You know Lil will pick, "I Will Always Love You." No one should attempt any Carrie Underwood unless they immediately want to go home.
Michael Sarver might do a very nice job with some George Jones.
As far as the new rule for the save there is one reason it was put in place. That is to save Adam as more people see the boy kissing pictures and he gets booted.
Adam will probably do a Johnny Cash number. That way, he can wear the same raunchy black outfit he’s had on for weeks now.
