Ok folks here's the new thread for the new season.
.................................................................................Set in Washington, DC, "Day 7" opens four years after Season Six with CTU dismantled and JACK BAUER on trial. Bauer's day takes an unexpected turn when former colleague TONY ALMEIDA returns. Meanwhile, newly elected President ALLISON TAYLOR leads the country alongside White House Chief of Staff ETHAN KANIN and First Gentleman HENRY TAYLOR.
A national security crisis prompts an investigation by a team of FBI agents including JANIS GOLD, RENEE WALKER, LARRY MOSS and SEAN HILLINGER. Although CTU is no longer, CHLOE O'BRIAN and BILL BUCHANAN are back for another momentous day of shocking events.
Can you make it available as a file? We are talking about the 1 that I watched earlier today aren't we?
Some times I think you can’t fix ugly, especially when it goes right down to the soul.
Not to worry. You didn't give anything away that I didn't already know. I had heard that Tony was coming back months ago.
Gosh, those two hours went by fast! I am looking forward to tomorrow night and finding out, I hope, what the heck is going on with Tony. He CAN'T be a bad guy!
Oh, yes....I recognize her now. Yes, I agree, she looks awful! That is some consolation, isn't it? ;-)
I am glad to see that Chloe is listed as returning this season. Wouldn't be the same without Chloe. Maybe Chloe and JG will go toe to toe. My money would be on Chloe. LOL

NOT GUILTY!!!

I thought the same thing...and definitely "Die Hard 2" for sure...except that Bill Sadler actually did crash the plane.
BTW, according to IMDB, VP Cheney had a cameo in that movie...I don't remember what he did.
I'm not sure...but it seemed like there were always threats from either Division or from the White House...Bill Buchanan at the end of Day 5 thought that Vice President Gardner would shut down CTU...but Karen Hayes, on loan from Homeland, personally suggested CTU stay open, and that Bill continue to run it. (no wonder they got married!)
However, if it was Congress that disabled it, I'd not be surprised...leave it to Congress to shut down something that works...and to subsidize something that doesn't...
What an NFL weekend! Not too surprised by the Ravens, but the Cards and the Eagles? Too bad San Diego couldn't complete the quad-fecta (mainly because I'd really like the Ravens against the Chargers. Against the Steelers? Not so much!)
"We're a rogue operation -- we are working outside of the government to uncover the conspiracy within the government."
Kiefer Sutherland commented "Chloe is crankier than ever; the dammit count is pretty high."
Producers will work around Rajskub's pregnancy. "I sit behind my computer and every time I stand up, they yell cut, and bring in a body double."
In order to deliver her baby, Rajskub will temporarily leave the show during the middle of the season, leaving Carlo Rota (Morris O'Brian) to take over her role until she returns.
IMDB says she’s only in the 8am-9am hour.
It is so good to see you here! How have you been?
Hi, I love this thread, I get to see old friends I haven’t seen in a while. How is your son and hubby?
Thanks for the Chloe scoop...I thought she was pregnant last season. Glad she’ll be back and cranky.
You’re probably right but the plane was in the North East.
I haven’t read the whole thread and it’s probably been discussed already, but my major gripe on the ‘believability’ front is the way ATC actually works.
Radio communications to aircraft are not closed and secure systems. Anyone who is tuned in to the right frequency and has a VHF radio can talk to aircraft. This idea that you could lock out ATC and no one could contact them is bogus.
Beyond that, an aircraft would not have left the ground with a plan to land at a particular runway, so this idea that he’d be surprised at a change is also bogus. The regional ATC they hacked into wouldn’t even have been the one to give landing instructions, they’d have transferred the plane to the local ATC tower.
Now, there is a certain amount of vulnerability to mayhem created by simply disrupting conversation... heck, even a stuck mic can cause problems, but that’s a different problem.
Just how exciting would the show be if it was a documentary based on total facts. The reason the show is a hit is it gives the viewer a sort of fantacy outlook, like phone batteries that never go dead or no one having to take a bathroom break. I bet les than 1% of the viewers have any idea how ATC directs flights, it’s a TV show for goodness sakes, like reading a sci fi novel. To enjoy it you have to suspend some belief or it isn’t any fun.
I understand, as long as folk don’t leave the show with a complete misunderstanding of what’s actually real.
I don’t often nitpick... Just had to say that much. I guess if they can bring Tony back to life, the idea that some other part of the show is fantasy is a little ludicrous. :~)
