Ok folks here's the new thread for the new season.
.................................................................................Set in Washington, DC, "Day 7" opens four years after Season Six with CTU dismantled and JACK BAUER on trial. Bauer's day takes an unexpected turn when former colleague TONY ALMEIDA returns. Meanwhile, newly elected President ALLISON TAYLOR leads the country alongside White House Chief of Staff ETHAN KANIN and First Gentleman HENRY TAYLOR.
A national security crisis prompts an investigation by a team of FBI agents including JANIS GOLD, RENEE WALKER, LARRY MOSS and SEAN HILLINGER. Although CTU is no longer, CHLOE O'BRIAN and BILL BUCHANAN are back for another momentous day of shocking events.
Exactly! Feckless VP and all. One difference is that the Pres. didn't go to a bunker, just a panic room.
Seems like some of the dialogue about the torture, etc, came from Flynn's "Extreme Measures". At least the very beginning, when Jack was before Sen. Mayer's committee sounded like Mitch Rapp, in the beginning of that book. I think Vince Flynn is friends with the producers, and he may have even helped write an episode or two, in the past.
When he first sat her down, she screamed at her mother to NOT listen to Juma. That's why he clamped his hand over her mouth.
Silly President, thinking with her ovaries, instead of her brain!
Vince Flynn voted for commie Amy Klobechar(sen Mn.) who has wrecked our country and I will not forgive him.
The janitor is now in uniform, too. One of the first guys who came through the opening in the brick wall handed him a uniform, and he started putting it on.
Ping
Doesn’t the Potomac with those large sharp rocks on the bank look a LOT like the Pacific Ocean, somewhere near Marina del Rey or Long Beach??
That Senator truly looks like his happiest moments are spent tapping in public restrooms.
He’s such a mule. He’s calling on Tuesday. ARRgh!
Missed that, ok.
Getting Freckles into a wet t-shirt is the best move of the series :)
With a face like hers, you don’t need no stinkin’ gun or phone :)
AND Larry is the one who orders Jack to torture someone to save Senator Sissy! The real plum is if the person Jack has to torture is Ryan...again!
AND Garfy has to reach out to Chloe when her technical knowledge is insufficient to break some code...maybe figuring out that/how someone outside (Jon Voight) has access to the White House security systems?
LOL! I was thinking the same thing last night when Chloe was frog-marched through the office, and Garfy gave her that smug look!
The show narrative followed Flynn’s book story line almost exactly.
The only difference is that in 24 the “bad guys” are African Blacks along with their American (white liberal) stooges while on the Flynn book the bad guys are Muslim terrorists (along with US white liberal stooges).
Significant difference.
There are some loose ends I’m not sure about:
I don’t believe the roundups and arrests have started yet. (Chloe was still working the list a “few minutes ago”.)
So with the attack on the WH, why is it never mentioned that Larry et al don’t know whom to trust? Somebody gave the terrorists access to the WH security systems and codes and secret service communications (they KNOW this)...yet no mention of not being able to trust anyone or even checking names against the list!
And there are two people we have very little info on.
One is “Tim”, Sec’y of Homeland Security. He’s the one who always comes in and tells the prez: “Larry’s on the phone”...then he stays and hears the latest info. Where did he disappear to after the attack? I don’t think he’s a hostage. And I haven’t seen him on the outside. Is he a traitor?
And then there’s Jonas Hodge. Who IS he? And how does he have access to WH security? I thought maybe he’s got some kind of IT systems contract with the WH.
Maybe so. But when he was eating Chinese food last night, his office windows overlooked some kind of cavernous room. It was shown very briefly, but there was a big lighted seal or emblem on the wall...and maybe a reception area. It didn’t look like just a warehouse; it looked “official”.
I like this season and don't have any problems with the casting except for that guy, Tim Woods (Frank John Hughes).
The Chemical plant manager who died shutting down the tanks couple weeks ago, would've been a better fit. He seemed to have a personality.
Do you think the VP is in on it?
