Details emerge on Jett Travolta's death

John Travolta, Kelly Preston and their children Jett and Ella Bleu, leave an airport in Rome.

John Travolta's lawyers -- who are close family friends -- reveal that Jett may have died in his father's arms Friday.

Us: How is John doing?

-snip- "John and Kelly are suffering total misery. They were so close to their son. This is hard to accept.

-snip-

Us: Have John and Kelly spent time with anyone since everyone arrived?

Ossi and McDermott: "John and Kelly have been pretty much locked away.

"We are staying here until John leaves. The autopsy should be on Monday.

-snip-

Us: It's been reported that Jett was left alone for several hours before being discovered. Can you clarify the timeline?

Ossi and McDermott: "Jett was not left alone. He had a nanny present at all times. The nanny was sleeping close to Jett's room. There was a baby monitor, a chime on the door so it was known when Jett was going in and out. He was completely supervised. The nanny found him.

Us: Is it true that Jett died in John's arms?

Ossi and McDermott: "Jett may have still been alive when John administered CPR, and then the EMT took over. Jett was pronounced dead at the hospital. I like to believe John had a chance to say goodbye. He may have died in his dad's arms. I am not certain."

Us: It's been said Jett had a history of seizures. How often did he have them?

Ossi and McDermott: "I am not confident to talk about that. I know he had a history, which of course warranted the extra attention."

-snip-

My dad had been in and out of the hospital for about a year before he finally gave up and said no machines to keep him alive. He was tired of the struggle and hated the hospital. He had been on oxygen for several years due to emphysema from smoking all his life. Somehow during the course of his stay at a nursing facility, he managed to somehow “get” a kidney failure problem. I suspect they gave him the wrong meds and it wrecked his kidneys. Previous to that his kidneys had been fine. He then had to go on dialysis 3 times a week for several years before his death. Point being, it was HIS choice to go finally. And that’s perfectly all right with me. I would want the same ability to choose for myself.

Not to mention the school shooters who were over medicated on anti depressants.

Yeah, I suspect one of the ladies here, perhaps the one who started the thread, might have done that. I understand her annoyance at the posts being side-tracked from the main topic. But that getting side-tracked happens all the time here at FR. At least, for as long as I’ve been here. I have never seen anyone get ticked enough to complain to the mods though. It’s getting a bit Gestapo all of a sudden, eh?

Info on Florida child abuse and neglect..just get yourself a religious tax exemption and you get alot of protection..even if it was only gotten for tax reasons

http://library.adoption.com/articles/definitions-of-child-abuse-and-neglect-florida.html

A parent or legal custodian who, by reason of legitimate practice of religious beliefs, does not provide specified medical treatment for a child may not be considered abusive or neglectful for that reason alone, but such exception does not:

Eliminate the requirement that such a case be reported to the department;

Prevent the department from investigating such a case; or

Preclude a court from ordering, when the health of the child requires it, the provision of medical services by a physician or treatment by a duly accredited practitioner who relies solely on spiritual means for healing in accordance with the tenets and practices of a well-recognized church or religious organization.

I do understand that the state thinks differently.

I think it is invasive and steps over boundaries.

I have seen children forced to have experimental treatments when the best treatment would have been the hospice and family. I know of childen who have died because the family did not believe in medical intervention. Both are difficult cases. the state has in the past 30 years taken more of a role in separating parents and chldren from their beliefs.

It will continue to happen in healthcare but you will really see it blossom as homeschoolers are forced back into school systems. Parents will be forced to send children to government preschools and religous instruction by parents will be curtailed.

Yes, and of course, the situations vary from state to state. Personally, I wouldn’t want to be caught dead ....uh, I mean alive...in a hospital in Florida. I really think there must be something in the water there that makes people wacko. Or just mentally slow. That’s why they call it...FloriDUH....hehe.

well there are some facts behind this speculation...

First.. Travolta claims that Kawasaki disease is responsible for his son’s condition..

Have read about a dozen opinions from Doctors that this is extremely unlikely..

Second: Autism is known not to be recognized as a real condition by Travolta’s scientology beliefs...

Third: we know that Jett was not on any medication at the time of his death to control his seizures... and that he was having approx.. one grand mal seizure a week..

Fourth: According to medical opinion... it is extremely dangerous to take people with seizures off of depakote.. and if they are taken off of depakote that dozens of alternative medications should be tried.. including some that do not damage the liver at all..

it is also a fact that scientology frowns on and prohibits the taking of many medications.. and believes “detox” is the answer to many ailments against the medical communities opinion..

we also know that Jett went through such detox..

based on the above facts and medical opinions.. I believe that this case should be investigated..

While I feel bad for John Travolta.. and know he is going through extreme pain.. I know he is not reading this thread.. and feel worse for a child whose life has been lost.. and suffered greatly in his last days..

and to only say positive things about Travolta and to send him condolences on a website he will never read seems a little silly.. especially since the point of this website is to discuss news stories..

condolences for Travolta’s family would be best sent in an email to him.. maybe send flowers... or write a letter..

Jett’s death certificate.

Has a weird time on it. I guess that is the time he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Seems kind of late.

And where was his helmet? Seizures like death every four days? Shouldn’t the boy have worn a helmet or some kind of protective gear.

Of course, I have never personally dealt with seizures so maybe this is not something that is commonly done.

Those laws are needed.. as i said too many times there are way too many dysfunctional parents to not have gov’t step in to save children in certain neccessary cases..

I worry many times that the gov’t has been overstepping the bounds.. and intervening too much.. speaking of New York State.. but to have no laws at all for gov’t intervention is unthinkable and great harm to children would come from it..

over medication is a problem... however, no medication at all for a kid having severe grand mal seizures once a week.. seems to be the concern in this case..

to be honest if ells gets older.. and reads this thread.. hopefully she will gain some perspective on scientology and be able to look fairly at it... and perhaps can get herself out if that is what she chooses..

And here is something else...Kelly Preston was more concerned about liver damage from Depakote than MASSIVE DOSES OF NIACIN IN A DETOX REGIMEN??????

If I had a kid with severe mental problems (as Anne Archer indicated) and bad seizures..I would try more than one drug to see if I could help him. Jett had a double whammy...he was mentally disabled..and experienced terrifying seizures and pain.

I read the account of someone who had grand mal seizures. Pretty nasty and pretty forceful.

How is it that Jett’s body was in good condition after his death?

Not implying that Jett really didn’t have a seizure...just a question.

But one comment from Anne Archer really struck me. I have had no contact with anyone with autism. But the comment about John being happy about any response from Jett. ANYTHING.

It sounded like autism to me. Of course, it could have been a number of other things...it is just the first thing that struck me given what I have heard about autism.

I suppose John has to cling to the Kawasaki syndrome ...for self preservation..

I don’t like most of Jim Carrey’s movies but I have to hand it to him for sticking with Jenny McCarthy and helping her raise her child..because I am sure it is a tough thing to live with...physically and emotionally.

I saw them on the Oprah show during her seminars with the “Now” guy. She has gone through alot of guilt.

Jett exhibited a lot of symptoms of autism..

Did you see that eerie prediction of Jett’s death on some website in 2007?

I wouldn't wish my worst enemy that had lost a child or brother to read some of the horrible stuff posted on this thread.

Regardless of their beliefs, John Travolta and Kelly Preston and Ella Bleu deserve our heartfelt sympathy. They do not deserve the inuendos, rumor and gossip.

Yes, but it is confusing..somewhere I read that the guy inserted the part about the bathtub later on his prediction.

the flight plan of JT’s plane is very interesting considering the conflict of the timeline.

I keep thinking about Brennan’s father who called in the Scientology handlers before he called the paramedics. I believe the Bahamas are in the same time zone as florida.

If so, the flight left the Bahamas before Jett is “officially” found..headed for the town of his lawyer..and on to Scientology headquarters town..and back to the Bahamas

IF I am reading this right

Damn, I thought that photo that they released..with Jett holding John’s head was so sweet...but something looked weird with it....but I didn’t pay much attention other than thinking something was weird about it.

It’s been photoshopped to take away Jetts chin.

The side of his face looks weird too...the color of it or something.

I wish they had just left him to appear as he does..instead of doing an edit on him.

Scripture from the Great Master that has me laughing my butt off:

“The sexual pervert (and by this term Dianetics, to be brief, includes ... homosexuality, lesbianism, sexual sadism, etc...) is actually quite ill physically...He is very far from culpable for his condition, but he is also so far from normal and so extremely dangerous to society that the tolerance of perversion is as thoroughly bad for society as punishment for it...A bit off the subject here, but it can be remarked about perversion that the best previous explanation for it was something about girls becoming envious of Papa’s penis or boys becoming upset about that terrible thing, the vulva, which Mama was incautious enough to show one day. It takes a great deal more than this utter tripe to make a pervert. It is, rather, somthing on the order of kicking a baby’s head in, running over him with a steamroller, cutting him in half with a rusty knife, boiling him in Lysol, and all the while with crazy people screaming the most horrifying and unprintable things at him.
