Details emerge on Jett Travolta's death

John Travolta, Kelly Preston and their children Jett and Ella Bleu, leave an airport in Rome.

John Travolta's lawyers -- who are close family friends -- reveal that Jett may have died in his father's arms Friday.

Us: How is John doing?

-snip- "John and Kelly are suffering total misery. They were so close to their son. This is hard to accept.

-snip-

Us: Have John and Kelly spent time with anyone since everyone arrived?

Ossi and McDermott: "John and Kelly have been pretty much locked away.

"We are staying here until John leaves. The autopsy should be on Monday.

-snip-

Us: It's been reported that Jett was left alone for several hours before being discovered. Can you clarify the timeline?

Ossi and McDermott: "Jett was not left alone. He had a nanny present at all times. The nanny was sleeping close to Jett's room. There was a baby monitor, a chime on the door so it was known when Jett was going in and out. He was completely supervised. The nanny found him.

Us: Is it true that Jett died in John's arms?

Ossi and McDermott: "Jett may have still been alive when John administered CPR, and then the EMT took over. Jett was pronounced dead at the hospital. I like to believe John had a chance to say goodbye. He may have died in his dad's arms. I am not certain."

Us: It's been said Jett had a history of seizures. How often did he have them?

Ossi and McDermott: "I am not confident to talk about that. I know he had a history, which of course warranted the extra attention."

-snip-

Doesn’t matter. It was their decision whether or not to medicate their kid. How a family chooses - CHOOSES - to take care of their “afflicted” or “disabled” child is their choice. I’m reminded - maybe because i have a deaf kid - of people who think that the answer is to implant and “fix” that kid, whether or not that’s the right answer for the child (or family).

I also think a LOT of this is conjecture on the part of the media. Not much has been published about this family.

I think the Travoltas deserve to be left alone.

She is reading this thread. You have pinged her. I am not hiding anything.

Does the Constitution mention ANYTHING about glass houses?

Sheesh Merry, no one here is CONTACTING the Travoltas. I am discussing Scientology on this thread.

So if a kid is dying in his bed and the folks don’t want to go to the hospital even though it could save his life...that is their right according to you?

What about if a kid will die if not given proper treatment? Is that okay with you?

What if a kid needs a blood transfusion and the parents say no and the kid dies?

Where do you draw the line? Or is that up to the individual state laws to draw the line?

She is reading this thread. You have pinged her.

But you have not, and you initiated this series of posts/questions. Do the right thing, then I'll see about answering your questions.

I don’t ping ANYONE and can say I don’t think I EVER have.

There you go again, placing your MORAL authority on ME..but telling me that I can’t have a MORAL opinion about someone else.

It is quite the double standard on this thread..and quite a bit of nasty name calling...but you don’t see it from me.

I am asking you a simple question. Does the Constitution talk about glass houses?

Is the only reason a person has the right to freedom of religion in your eyes...because of the Constitution...or do they have a MORAL right to freedom of religion?

You know what they see...an awful lot of nasty childish name calling by people who aren’t willing to actually discuss the issues..AND they saw an attempt by ArizonaCarolyn..that I still can’t believe....to criticize me but in doing so actually made the very argument that I was making...she just didn’t realize she was doing it...because she hasn’t bothered to understand what Scientologists actually believe.

You will be happy to note that I am about done with this topic because no one is actually willing to have an intellectual conversation. You just want to practice nasty name calling.

But I will leave ArizonaCarolyn with this thought..and if she is truly in the medical field..and no reason to believe she is not...

She should ponder that statement she made herself about the Travoltas and Depakote.

There is a magazine published by the Church of Scientology called Freedom Magazine and they have an article called “Fiction Masquerades as Science”. You can view it online.

Guess what is included. Depakote.

Now, why would a high level Scientologist go against their beliefs and give their son that drug??????? It goes against all that Scientology believes in and preaches to the masses.

Scientology has some explaining to do to their members.

Really? You don't always address your posts to yourself. Hence, you do ping people. That's what addressing a post to one or more other FReepers is.

What part of "I won't be baited" do you not understand? Do the right thing about FR etiquette in this particular instance, and I will consider answering your question. Otherwise, you're wasting your time.

People are afraid of us. Seizures scare the pants off of people because of the total loss of control. Anything to do with the brain scares people because so little it known. Most people think you are mentally off which in fact is wrong, some of the most brilliant people the world has ever seen have been epileptics.

My heart goes out to the family of Jett Travolta and to others who are affected by seizure disorders. His, like mine is from birth but there are many others who have started having seizures for no discernible reasons or from severe head trauma.

Thank you.

Who is most likely to make a loving and concerned decision regarding the proper care of a child? Imho, it is the parents.

I think it is a lost cause trying to discuss this with people like Rummychick and I won’t even try anymore. Harvey Levin was on Bill O’Reilly tonight and he confirmed they did treat Jett with drugs to stop the epilepsy. He also said you wouldn’t find more attentive or caring parents than the Travolta’s. He and Bill both are disgusted with all the rumor-mongering that took place starting as soon as the news broke, trying to blame Jetts death on Scientology... to quote Bill O’Reilly, these are evil people.

You're absolutely right, Carolyn. RummyChick, in particular, is a coward who prefers to talk about people behind their backs. Even when given multiple chances to correct her lack of FR posting etiquette in failing to ping you to her posts to me attempting to discuss you, she refuses to do so. That speaks volumes about the kind of person we're dealing with here.

What about that ‘cancer cure’? Must’ve been those ‘body thetans’. Relative died this morning. Funeral Wenesday. Guess I should’ve bought Kevin Trudeau’s book, huh?

What is Harry Levin’s source?

The attorney?

So they admit that Scientology Goldenboy broke with the most basic tenet of Scientology and administered a drug that Scientology opposes?

I don’t think they have any diabetics in Scientology either. They can cure it...at least according to the FBI files. All the diabetics that go to Arizona Carolyn’s office can now be sent to Scientology if she really wants them to get better.

I don’t have to work. I am not rich like John Travolta with two jets but I don’t have to work.
