Details emerge on Jett Travolta's death

John Travolta, Kelly Preston and their children Jett and Ella Bleu, leave an airport in Rome.

John Travolta's lawyers -- who are close family friends -- reveal that Jett may have died in his father's arms Friday.

Us: How is John doing?

-snip- "John and Kelly are suffering total misery. They were so close to their son. This is hard to accept.

-snip-

Us: Have John and Kelly spent time with anyone since everyone arrived?

Ossi and McDermott: "John and Kelly have been pretty much locked away.

"We are staying here until John leaves. The autopsy should be on Monday.

-snip-

Us: It's been reported that Jett was left alone for several hours before being discovered. Can you clarify the timeline?

Ossi and McDermott: "Jett was not left alone. He had a nanny present at all times. The nanny was sleeping close to Jett's room. There was a baby monitor, a chime on the door so it was known when Jett was going in and out. He was completely supervised. The nanny found him.

Us: Is it true that Jett died in John's arms?

Ossi and McDermott: "Jett may have still been alive when John administered CPR, and then the EMT took over. Jett was pronounced dead at the hospital. I like to believe John had a chance to say goodbye. He may have died in his dad's arms. I am not certain."

Us: It's been said Jett had a history of seizures. How often did he have them?

Ossi and McDermott: "I am not confident to talk about that. I know he had a history, which of course warranted the extra attention."

-snip-

As discussed upthread, a lobotomy isn’t really the answer — even if RummyChick digs it. I know it would kill me to have to live with her. :)

When do the rights of the child become more important than freedom of religion and your need to gloss over a tragic event.

Withholding seizure medication from a child that has a history of seizure disorders that are like death every time MIGHT be considered neglect..depending on how the decision was arrived to withhold them.

ArizonaCarolyn shouts out that Kelly Preston was a big proponent of withholding medication from children without realizing that included in that list of drugs is epilepsy medicine because Scientologists do not believe in giving epilepsy medicine to people with seizures.

The autopsy is done.

You can rant and rave and call me all the names you want..and make all the derisive comments you want..

but the REALITY IS

THE TRAGEDY IS

That Scientologists withhold NECESSARY medication because they believe they can cure problems with audits and e-meters.

Travolta is a GoldenBoy of Scientology. The spin is going to be very interesting.

I am not a fan of Scientology, but I do believe that they have as much right to practice their religion as any of the other organized religions. That includes those folks who believe that prayer will cure illness or that illness is a state of mind as well as the anesthetists who hold fast to this is as good as it gets.

Okay, so they can practice however they see fit. Freedom of religion argument.

Now what about when it effects the child.

Jetts death is a lose-lose PR propostion for Scientology. Their Goldenboy didn’t follow the beliefs OR he was guilty of neglect for withholding seizure medications from a boy who had seizures that were like death every time.

What I find simply amazing is that posters who will question the spin machine of the Democrats and their lawyers ..just readily accept the lawyers word about the Travoltas...even though Scientology has a spin machine as great, if not greater, as that of the Democrats. It would be different if you could find other information out there where Kelly says she gives her child meds...but I haven’t found it.

As with any religion..it is one thing for an adult to practice but quite another when the beliefs endanger minors.

I feel sad for the life of that boy and that it had to end the way it did..but maybe..just maybe..it will shed some light on the dangers of Scientology.

I will never buy the “Its for the children” argument. That’s left wing crap to explain unintended consequences. There are consequences for everything we do. Just because we don’t like how others choose to do it doesn’t make us right. There is a huge difference between following your beliefs and acting with malice even when the outcome might be the same.

I sincerely, doubt that I could ever change your opinion about a group you dislikes so intently. I know I have similar feelings about certain other groups, I just hope I don’t share them with everyone.

Here it is in black and white.

A child has a seizure disorder.

The parents on Scientologists.

Scientologists do not believe in medicine for seizures.

The child does not receive the medicine.

He receives audits, emeter mumbo jumbo that the FDA calls quackery, and a toxic level of Niacin.

Is that neglect?

Is that criminal neglect?

RummyChick,
As the originator of this thread, I have asked you politely to stop badgering people, to go away and post your own vanity. Yet, your tirades continue.

You seem incapable of controlling yourself and appear to have no recognition of the consequences of your acts.

After reviewing page upon page of your comments I have concluded that you are twisted, evil, and batsh*t insane.

Go away.

The only person that is “CLEAR” to is you and your tinfoil theories. I will wait for the autopsy results — which in addition to two coroners his personal physician attended — to be revealed. There is entirely too much false information being spread on the net about this by people like you who do not have a clue what they are talking about. You are not a physician and you do not know that family and have no personal knowledge of any real facts... and THAT is a fact.

I found an interesting comment that I will have to research on the Anonymous thread which goes right to the heart of the argument by ArizonaCarolyn and Kelly’s prolific excoriation of psych meds:

“Given how the CCHR has slammed Depakote in their propaganda, the CoS is in a real bind when it comes to trying to spin this one.

If this were any other celebrity’s kid, you know they’d be screaming bloody murder that Depakote was responsible for his demise. Look! Bad Evil Drug killed another Innocent Child. WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN?! Damn psyches!

Can’t risk royally pissing off JT with that now, can they? I’m sure, in private, some Scilons are going to tsk-tsk to themselves and blame the meds and psyches... but good luck getting any mileage out of it publicly.”

IF, your supposition as to the treatment rendered were accurite; the answer is,Nope, it may be a belief in the wrong solution. It is a tragedy for the family. It may not be a bad outcome for society in general, as there will be fewer people who seek the “failed solution”.

Actually, the autopsy results may not be revealed. It is up to Travolta.

Here is what I know as fact and you cannot dispute it in any way.

SCIENTOLOGISTS DO NOT BELIEVE IN GIVING MEDICINE TO PEOPLE WHO SUFFER FROM EPILEPSY.

HERE IS ANOTHER FACT.

Kelly and her marches for CCHR, A SCIENTOLOGY FRONT, do not believe in psych meds for kids.

I guess you just don’t comprehend that they consider medicine for epilepsy in that category.

I am interested to see if they have ever mentioned the name of the drug they claimed to have given Jett in any of their marches or literature.

Once again you are spinning webs, they are NOT against epilepsy medications, in fact he was given Depakote which, if you knew anything about medicine, is a drug given for Bi-Polar disorders which IS a mental disorder... if the Travolta family was against drugs for mental disorders - - which Epilepsy and Grand Mal Seizures are not BTW — they would never have allowed Jett to take Depakote. We get that you hate anything and anyone Scientologist, and another Freeper gave you a link where your ranting is welcome...

News flash! I am NOT a scientologist and I AGREE with Kelly Preston that kids with ADD, ADHD and such are being way over medicated. If you want your kids to go through life as drugged up zombies that is your choice, but I can tell you there is a lot of kids who’s daily life is controlled by some very powerful drugs before any and all other options have been explored... that is what Kelly is against and she is right.

Did you bother to listen to Hubbard , the FOUNDER of Scientology on his beliefs about medicine and epilepsy or even bother to listen to what a former member who reach very high status had to say about it.

Look, here is the bottom line. You believe what you want to believe. You have no desire to find out the truth of the situation. So just believe whatever you want to believe.

It doesn’t bother me in the least.

And you just made the argument by calling Depakote a drug for MENTAL DISORDERS..and calls into question whether they ever really gave him that drug.

And what is your proof that they gave it to him? The Press release from his lawyer?

I guess you won’t be questioning any of the Democrats spin from now on, eh?

Thanks Arizona Carolyn.

I have only heard good things about this family despite the hatred spewed by a few here. Someone posted on the original thread to me that they had worked for the Travolta’s several years ago and they were NOT, I repeat NOT KOOKS but very nice.

I also read yesterday that he was flying about 60 people down, friends and family of those who worked for them to enjoy the Bahamas over New Years weekend. They were all in route when this horrible tragedy occurred.

Many people, as in the news report I posted to you have all been saying that this family was very close and always were together.

Those that post pics of him supposedly kissing the nanny who is married BTW should stop. I found today that there is also a pic of him kissing Kirk Douglas on camera, at what looks like an event like an awards show, smack on the lips and I doubt highly that was anything but a friendship smack!! There’s not always something going on even if the ever present papparazzi try to make it look that way.

I still can’t get over that you made this comment.

http://www.cchr.org/psychiatric_drugs/index.html

You CLEARLY have no idea about Scientology if you actually believe what you just wrote.

SCIENTOLOGY AND THE TRAVOLTAS ARE AGAINST DRUGS FOR MENTAL DISORDERS.

Carolyn,
You need to read thishttp://dir.salon.com/story/news/feature/2005/07/01/sci_psy/

On June 27, following Cruise’s “Today” show appearance, the American Psychiatric Association issued a statement to remind the nation’s TV viewers that “science has proven that mental illnesses are real medical conditions” and that medications have been a lifesaving part of treatment plans for millions of people. “It is irresponsible for Mr. Cruise to use his movie publicity tour to promote his own ideological views and deter people with mental illness from getting the care they need,”

DO you REALLY not understand that they don’t believe in psychiatric drugs? You just made my argument about why we should question whether they ever really did give Jett Depakote.
