Details emerge on Jett Travolta's death

John Travolta, Kelly Preston and their children Jett and Ella Bleu, leave an airport in Rome.

John Travolta's lawyers -- who are close family friends -- reveal that Jett may have died in his father's arms Friday.

Us: How is John doing?

-snip- "John and Kelly are suffering total misery. They were so close to their son. This is hard to accept.

-snip-

Us: Have John and Kelly spent time with anyone since everyone arrived?

Ossi and McDermott: "John and Kelly have been pretty much locked away.

"We are staying here until John leaves. The autopsy should be on Monday.

-snip-

Us: It's been reported that Jett was left alone for several hours before being discovered. Can you clarify the timeline?

Ossi and McDermott: "Jett was not left alone. He had a nanny present at all times. The nanny was sleeping close to Jett's room. There was a baby monitor, a chime on the door so it was known when Jett was going in and out. He was completely supervised. The nanny found him.

Us: Is it true that Jett died in John's arms?

Ossi and McDermott: "Jett may have still been alive when John administered CPR, and then the EMT took over. Jett was pronounced dead at the hospital. I like to believe John had a chance to say goodbye. He may have died in his dad's arms. I am not certain."

Us: It's been said Jett had a history of seizures. How often did he have them?

Ossi and McDermott: "I am not confident to talk about that. I know he had a history, which of course warranted the extra attention."

-snip-

Exactly. I don’t choose to be a part of these “new” religions, but I support their constitutional right to join and worship as they please. Seems to me some people have forgotten that part of being a conservative is supporting our constitution, not sitting in judgment of our fellow man, especially when he is suffering.

I agree with you! I am appalled at some of the comments here. I keep telling myself to quit reading this thread but it's like a car wreck, I can't seem to turn away. Why has the moderator not removed these comments?

“How many men do you kiss and where do you kiss them?”

None, but you know where you can kiss me.

if anyone bothered to really read that link I gave to find out how Scientology really works..instead of sitting here castigating me for calling out the Travoltas and the Scientology voodoo.

To: Sparky1776 How many men do you kiss and where do you kiss them?

If it is not apparent to you, why you are "castigated" there is nothing I can do to help you.

It certainly doesn’t disqualify you from taking care of your son. If you, however, start getting paid to take care of someone else’s acutely ill son, and he dies in a bathroom after a hideous seizure that you might or might not have training in how to handle, you can probably expect to have people murmur amongst themselves, because that’s what people do.

Add all the other Travolta baggage to the mix, and it’s a huge story for the entertainment press and those who follow it. If that sounds “NUTTY” and “crazy” to you, I’m curious what you’d say in a crisis which you deem worthy of discussion.

Not to start religion wars here, but how does believing in Scientology differ from believing in Mormonism? I think we could probably say that about many other religions... this is why we have freedom in this country to believe as we choose to believe, be it Mormon, Scientology, Christin Scientist, Jehovah’s Witness, Islam, Catholic or Jew.

I have seen posts (not many, thank goodness) on FR that claim the Catholic religion is a "cult." This is a most peculiar stance, given that the Catholics were the first Christians. St. Peter, Christ's leading apostle, founded the Roman Catholic Church over 1400 years before Martin Luther began the Protestant Reformation. So I'm not big on accepting what some folks around here label "cults" since their judgment and knowledge of history are so suspect. Just sayin'

Christian Scientists do not use doctors, medicine, or immunizations. I am not a Christian Scientist, but I am anti-vaccinations. I don't buy how the Mormon religion was founded, but I know a lot of very nice Mormon people... they have the right to believe what I don't believe. I think Scientology is a very strange religion, but I don't dislike people who have chosen to be Scientologists.

At what point do we just take the constitution and chuck it in the trash can? Either we allow people to worship their God in the way they see fit or our constitution is worthless. We cannot pick and choose which parts we support.

It isn’t that hard to figure out why I make that comment if anyone bothered to really read that link I gave to find out how Scientology really works

I suspect the reason no one is reading your link is because they don't think this is the time or place to bring up your thoughts on Scientology. You remind me of the story I heard of the lady at the funeral for the gay guy who tells his mother "I'm sorry you lost your son, too bad he's going to hell because he's a homosexual".

They lost their son, have some compassion!!!! Start your own thread on the subject of Scientology.

"It is believed Jett Travolta was autistic. Scientology does not believe autism exists, hence, he would not have been treated for it."

In other words, you were reaching to your normal extreme to make a disgusting comment. The mainstream medical community has no established treatment for autism; infact many deny that it is a medical condition.

This thread is about the details of Jett’s death. Part and parcel of that is the beliefs in Scientology, how it effected the care, the timeline of the death, possible neglect on the night in question, and neglect in the long term care of their son.

I have said more than once that I do believe that they loved their son and they will be devastated.

I hope they see the light and get away from the cult.

I do not chose to be a Muslim or practice Sharia, but that is their "free" choice to make here in the USA. Either we support the right to free choice of religion, or we do not. I do. In the same vein, I don't like a lot of things I see on the news or other places, but I support their first amendment rights to say it.

I am a Conservative Republican, I support our constitution and all that implies. Liberals are the people who try to tell people what they can or cannot do and how they can or cannot think.

I never said they couldn't. For all this Consitution and freedom of religion, I sure hope FREE SPEECH is there as well.

All I did was ask why there wasn't a licensed professional caregiver on the premises. And considering the situation, two or three, rotating shifts wouldn't be out of the norm, and this makes me evil? LMAO

I think we would be much better as a party if we chose all our battles more carefully. Some comments on this thread is the kind of thinking that has driven a lot of people out of the Republican party and why it is stumbling in the wilderness now days.
