I'm so sorry you have to go through this, Billie!
It's a miracle you are able to put together such incredible graphics
When your dial-up is so slow!

Does an embedded YouTube video load any faster than going to the YouTube page? There is a lot of other stuff in addition to the video being loaded when you go to their page.

That was a cute pic for WFW, Amy, thank you.
Speaking of “ready for spring,” I just witnessed a cherry tree with pink buds on it. I’m sure it was completely barren just a few days ago when I last looked.

I should get off this computer and clean my desk or .....
Move to the kitchen table. :)
Really cute graphic, Luv.

Our cherry trees aren't blooming yet but the almonds will start blooming next month.
We're having another cold, dreary Thursday.
Hope yours is warm and bright.

Post Christmas Blues
‘Twas the month after Christmas,
When all through the house,
Nothing would fit me,
Not even a blouse!
The cookies I’d nibbled,
The eggnog I’d taste...
At the holiday parties,
Had gone to my waist!
I remember the marvelous meals all prepared:
The gravies and sauces,
The beef “nicely rared”.
The wine and the rum balls,
The bread and the cheese,
And the way I NEVER said,
“No, thank you, please.”
As I dressed myself in my husband’s old shirt,
And prepared once again to do battle with dirt,
I said to myself (as only I can),
“You can’t spend a winter disguised as a MAN”!
So-—away with the last of the sour cream dip,
Get rid of the fruit cake, every cracker and chip!
Every last bit of food that I like must be banished,
‘Til all of the additional “ounces” have vanished!
I won’t have a cookie,
Not even a lick!
I’ll want only to chew,
On a celery stick!
I won’t have hot biscuits,
Or corn bread or pie,
I’ll munch on a carrot,
And quietly cry.
I’m hungry...I’m lonesome...and life is a bore!
But isn’t that what January is for?
Unable to giggle,
No longer a riot!
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL,
AND TO ALL A GOOD DIET!

Happy Thursday, WayzataJ.
Your poem is excellent. If it is okay, I would like to save it.
I might find the perfect graphic to accompany it.
Have a Warm Sunny Thursday.

Awww, don't be sad, yorkie. Most of the time when I want to download something that will take a while, I just let it start and then go away and do some other things, like walking the dogs, or fun stuff like doing laundry, washing windows, waxing the cars.... (KIDDING!)
And so you don't feel too sorry for me, I have a great computer with lots of hard drive and memory, so anything other than the internet is not a problem at all. Actually, I can work on graphics, etc. while I'm downloading. I just can't open too many internet windows when something large is downloading.
Fewz, I see your later post about embedded You Tubes - no they don't download any faster than going to the YouTube site itself. It's anytime there is a very large file. Graphics that are huge in bytes are slow, too - if there are too many large ones trying to open at the same time, I can forget trying to close the screen because it locks up until something finishes opening.

P.S. I’m sorry - I was away before the YouTube finished, and don’t know when it did, but oh my gosh, that little girl was awesome! I LOVED IT! Thanks for giving us the link!

I love boots in the winter, too. I don’t have any warm cozy ones and keep thinking I’ll get some, but just never have. I actually feel warm enough in short ankle boots with heels and jeans. Could use the fleece-lined ones lots of times when the wind is cold and it’s time to walk the dogs though!

I think I will check to see if there is any chocolate left in my hidden stash. :)
Hope you are enjoying Thursday, even if it is a chocolate-free day. :)
