I'm still tearing up reading all of your posts about your pets/experiences, because it's so hard to not feel helpless and sad when our precious pets become disabled in any way. Most of us have been there and can relate all too well. :(
To: Kitty Mittens
Oh, I want to grab and squeeze that puppy till he wiggles out of my arms!
To: LUV W
LOL. Lick, lick! One of our doggies is so generous with his kisses, the other one not so much, but he does like to cuddle. :)

Thanks for the report, lonestar, about President and Mrs. Bush being at the game.
I Pray for an Overflowing Tidal Wave of Support to Come their Way, to Help Wash Away the Horrible and Hurtful Lies the Lamestream Media Hurled their Way for So Long.
I don't expect the Lamestream Media or the rest of the dims in Washington to ever regret the way they disrespected him.

& Wow... Lots of Taylor Hicks stuff. Yep! I did declare Tuesday was Taylah's day. :)
To: DollyCali; snugs
Prayers for your dad, Snugs. I know all the tests and then waiting for test results is stressful and difficult. :(

This is an adorable sweet opening, Billie, and I thank you both for all you do for us at Amy's Place. Hugs, Meg, and thank you for your sweet words - and the beautiful tulips!

How about some Beach Dreaming? Oh, yes, yes, yes! That bougainvillea is breathtaking!
And, Lori, all your beach scenes are to die for! Wouldn't we all love to be lounging in the beautiful weather, drinking an umbrella drink and being pampered by attentive hotel/resort staff. :)
To: jaycee
Billie, I know how you LOVE chocolate and don't we all? No, not me, you must be thinking of somebody else.
:) :) :)

What a nice opening presentation today. I always thought it would be interesting to see some of these ancient cave paintings.

Pretty lighthouse - I would love to visit the Maine Coast - have never been to New England.

It's so bright you have to wear sunglasses indoors. Or just close your eyes like that kitty. :)

Can you grow bougainvillea where you live? I wish we could here. They sell it in the nurseries here, but I've never been able to get it to survive, even in hanging baskets under the patio and even with misting it a couple times a day. It still won't survive the heat of our summers. I love bougainvillea and fuchsia. Fuchsia practically grows wild on the coast, but it won't grow here either. Just too dang hot in the summer.
Yes, I could stand some beach time about now. Warm sand and a piña colada and the sound of the surf.......oh yes,....I could deal with that. LOL

Well I'll be darned - Who ever thought about how ice cream cones were rolled before. Now we know! :)
Thanks for the neat holiday illustrations today - pretty heading, Lori.
Ah, I enjoyed doing Kansas' profile - first one I had done since Texas and Hawaii. :)
To: Mama_Bear
Yes, I had a beautiful bougainvillea last year for the first time I ever tried it. It was a coral-colored hanging basket I got as a gift from a friend, and was sure it would be dead within a week or two, but after the first blooms dropped off, I just kept giving it a regular dose of plant food and daily watering, and soon it grew new buds and bloomed so well all summer long. My sister-in-law used to always bring hers in from a sheltered courtyard to 'winter' in the house, but I don't do houseplants very well. Figured I'd just buy a new one for this year. :)
Oh, my courtyard faces west - it is very hot, but I hang my hanging baskets in a large tree, so apparently that helps protect from heat and too much afternoon sun.
What we have never been able to grow is Azaleas - even my sister-in-law, who can grow ANYTHING, can't keep the soil right for azaleas.
To: Billie
Well, it is hard to believe that it is the heat here that keeps bougainvillea from growing, it grows like a weed in Mexico. Maybe I was giving it too much water, or fussing over it too much. I might try again this summer. I have seen some that is a raspberry color that is just gorgeous. I can’t wait for summer!
To: Billie
Thank you! I took that one August a year ago. We are all
going again—you should go with me! You would LOVE it!
