Unfortunately some dogs are the opposite and learn too well. My dad has a French Brittney that we put through rattlesnake training (like all his other Brits).
Dog learned too well and now won’t go near extension cords, the garden hose, strings, anything that even remotely resembles a snake .

Well my old lab did it..don't know how she did it, but I know it's possible. Maybe the deer got cornered our they are sick or small. Anyway, that Lab was in her seventies in dog years last time she cornered a deer. Sure wish I had another one like her. She passed away this year.
I remember the day an annoying little Jack Russel came around to kill babies rabbits in the yard about an acre away and saw Molly on the front porch. Molly usually would start barking at Jack to let him know that he was getting too close. One day she got tired of the game and started barreling like a freight train after Jack and caught him before he ever got another half an acre away. Jack stayed away after that. Best darn dog I ever had by the way.

I talk to mine as a person and she’ll tip her head one way then the other like she knows exactly what I’m saying. I speak to her in sentences .... she’ll sit up wanting something and I tell her to show me and she’ll run to what it is she wants.
Dad says it ain’t no real dog unless it can fetch beer from the fridge ... I told him to go get a Retriever ... they’re dumb enough to just do it ... LOL ....

I had a German Shepard / Husky mix....that many thought was a Belgian Tervuren.........I'd never heard of that breed before people asked me...if she was one.
Man she was a good dog.....Loved that dog.
Own two Border Collies now.....great dogs!!
I'd like to have a Tervuren though..........

let me know how that works out for you. I don't think he's going to be around long enough.
He needn't worry about dogs and deer. He'd best be on the watch for kitties...the Nordic type.

If you leave a dog free to raom at night, they will hook up with the neighbors dogs and wild dogs to form a pack and go on a killing spree. Come morning, they will be back at their respective homes looking as innocent as can be.

Is your dog eating his food? Ours did this because they didn't like the dog food. If he's leaving a lot of dog food in his bowl, find something he likes to eat and feed him that.
Border collies (and mixes) will often "herd" dear. But there's something not right if he's killing them and eating them.

Your dogs appear to be a Beagle and some sort of Beagle cross. Good call! Half beagle and half fox terrier. Good jump dogs and don't run ten miles like beagles.
...but you didn't have their dew claws removed by any chance did you?
You are 2 for 2! We did, plus bobbed thier tails. Here they are before the operation:

I have a Jack Russell that goes to Alaska and kills Kodiak bears. I just don’t know how to stop her. I took away her credit cards but she just turns tricks to pay for the plane tickets. _______________________________ My little Chihuahua girl works the Juno area truckstops and does quite well there, turning tricks, but prefers polar bears for sport. She thinks border collies and Jack Russells lack the brains to outsmart large game. Nothing personal.

Dogs running deer are subject to being shot on sight and you now have a dog that is a twice offender. Either you keep you dog on leash or penned in the yard. Your dog is now a deer killer and will do so any chance it gets.
I suggest you view your state's laws regarding dogs and deer.............
FWIW, a bunch of years ago a friend of mine I worked with in Detroit was transferred to one of our plants in Kentucky. He bought a house out in the country and 2 Alaskan Huskys. One day the dogs were running loose and came upon one of a neighbor's head of cattle and killed it. That became a major problem for him both financially and because he had to put the dogs down.........

the deer will cure the problem by not being slow enough for him to catch, usually. Just pray that the dog doesn't transfer it behavior over to your neighbors calves, sheep, goats or fowl. The neighbors will then solve the problem with extreme prejudice with justification and may even present you with a bill plus be pretty perturbed at you for some time.

Does your dog have a license?
To kill deer I mean. If not, try to blame it on the cat if the Game Warden come's a knockin'.

Thanks for the cute puppy pics. I saw only two dogs in your original pic. Did you give the third one away or is he/she just not into the whole deer skinning thing?
