Canadas are here year round, too. They’re cute in the spring when they have babies.

That's when I disliked them the most. I used to cycle-commute for several miles on a bike-path beside a river and when they had goslings they became quite aggressive. More than once I had to pull out the frame pump to be sure I could fend them off.

They also tended to leave the trail rather slick...

They have them in Seattle too. Not one of the reasons I avoid Seattle though.

That would be a problem. DP complains about them when he runs in a nearby subdivision with ponds. I don’t usually go over there, and it’s rare for them to land in our fields.

And they do leave a mess. When I went over to Central Piedmont with Anoreth to get her books last week, there were goose droppings on the front steps.

Pigeons. Rats with wings.

We have bats who rest under the eaves of our house, on the south side. Sometime I'm going to get up there and put in a wire to discourage them.

Or “evil, cat-neglecting scum,” which is what Wednesday called me when I got home from Girl Scouts.

Not to change the subject, but...

It’s 65 sunny degrees here! With a slight breeze. Wish y’all were here!

My college had a lagoon on the grounds, complete with geese and coots, right by the student center. The geese would sometimes attack students in an effort to grab their lunches.

Ah, pigeons. I see bats when I’m out at night, but We don’t have eaves on our houses, so they’re probably roosting in the trees or at the school or the Baptist church. The church has a belfry with electronic bells.

There are several flocks that stop by our local collecting ponds. I like them - from a distance.

It’s what I get for not taking our nap! Her feelings were hurt. She doesn’t like to nap alone.

Chattanooga is very scenic. It was over an hour’s drive from Tullahoma, so we went every month or so when we lived there, and we also stopped at the State Aquarium during our move here in 2003.
