Here's my list:
Robert Plant/Allison Krause
Lucero (the rock band from Memphis, not the Mexican diva)
Thad Cockrell
Alejandro Escovedo
Nick Lowe
Bad Livers (Danny Barnes rules!)
Richard Thompson (fantastic musician, too bad he's such a leftist)
Roan Mountain Hilltoppers
Jerry Douglas
Wayne Hancock (will be seeing him on Dec. 27)
How was Plant/Krause? I like some of their songs together
The Eagles and they WERE GREAT!
Journey
Stevie Nicks
and the Alvin Alley Ballet :`)
Any entertainer that is a leftist I do not go and see or purchase their cd’s or movies.
Ollabelle.
Had a blast a Blue Man Group concert this year!
The Voices of Faith.
The only live performance I’ve seen this year was a band performing in front of Guitar Center in Santa Clara, which I only found out about becuase I happened to be driving past at the time. I have no idea who it was, but the lead guitarist was really good.
The last “big name” I saw in concert was Rush, back in August 2007.
Let me see, I remember Keith Sweat, Johnny Rivers, Richard Cheese, Joel McHale, Travis Tritt w/ Marty Stuart, Randy Travis (not through the whole thing. I left because I was sick. :(), Chris Banner, Sugar Hill Creek Gang, Chippendales, Rojo.... Y’know, this is really unfair making me try and remember every concert I have to go to. (I work at a concert venue. :P)
Gogol Bordello - El Rey Theatre - Los Angeles
How was Richard Cheese?
OH go see TSO Trans Siberian Orchestra. They are wonderful. But you have to be over 40 to appreciate REAL rock and roll and Christmans combined with a story line.
I saw Rush at the Jones Beach Theater in July, first time I’d seen them in 21 years. Still awesome.
Saw Leon Russell at a small venue - strangest concert I’ve ever been to. He came in and hammered out one song after another and rarely looked at the audience and never said a word to us. When he was gone, he got up and left and that was it. Lasted about 1-1/2 hours.....
I heard Allen Toussaint at a very small venue in Chicago. I recommend that others seek him out.
Your list is a lot cooler than mine:
Peter Noone and Herman’s Hermits
My Fair Lady at the Music Circus
Whoever was performing at Disneyland
Myself and band at Oktoberfest
Pretty lame. Next year will be a whole lot better.
That must have been something!
Couldn’t list them all because I’m at my daughter’s band’s shows about 100+ times per year and many are co-bills, but some others I’ve seen are:
Bob Schneider
Journey/Cheap Trick/Heart
Monte Montgomery
Ruthie Foster
Clay Walker
Tommy Alverson
Chris Knight
Rissi Palmer
Kinky Friedman
Marcia Ball
Journey/Heart/Cheap Trick
Journey/Heart/Cheap Trick
OH YEAH!
And Dolly Parton.
