The first song that played over the loudspeakers after Obama's first speech as president-elect in Chicago's Grant Park was Springsteen's 'The Rising.' No other singer backed Barack Obama more, and no other singer made clear his apathy for the Bush regime. Springsteen's outright opposition.........

"my issues with Palin have little to do with her views"
Dude, you're lying. Quit trying to spin your way out. You said that she is an insult to Conservatism. That's more than "a little to do with her views".
This will make you feel more at home,

"How the hell would you know what I am! I only spent years if not decades fighting abortion in my home town to the point i bacame notorious for it, lost I job over it, probably no less than forty kids owe thier very existence to my persuading their mums not to abort: YCGTH"
Your commitment to the pro-life cause is commendable. In itself, however, it does not establish conservative credentials, as there are many social liberals (Nat Hentoff for example) who also champion the pro-life cause.
This brings another question to mind. How can you, a self-proclaimed advocate for life, say that you are happy with the victory of one who was the sole reason for the defeat of the Born Alive Infant Protection Act in Illinois, a champion of FOCA and who says that his biggest mistake as a Senator was voting in favor of saving Terri Schaivo?
Feeling any cognitive dissonance?

Did you vote for Obama? If you call yourself an advocate for life, how could you? How could you cast your vote for someone who promised FOCA on his first day in office? Someone who voted against tiny infants being saved when they would otherwise be left to die? HOW COULD YOU? Please explain.

Bruce Springsteen: he’s a MINSTREL for Pete’s Sake! He’s just a wandering minstrel, a singer of songs. It’s not like he’s found the cure for cancer, or done anything really important: he’s just a Minstrel.
So why should the most powerful office in the world give two hoots in hell what this Minstrel thinks?
It’s a joke, surely!

I voted McCain/Palin but would have rathered someone else as running mate.
To: indianbob
Well, that’s a relief. I have an aunt who didn’t like her but voted for McCain anyway. She said she was too “down home.”
