1. Alabama 2. Oklahoma 3. Texas 4. Florida 5. USC 6. Utah 7. Texas Tech 8. Penn State 9. Boise State 10. Ohio State
After yesterdays’ game with the Kansas chickens, Mizzou won’t win with the Sooners.
Mizzou is over.
...and PInkle gets $7 million raise. Wow.
Yeah ... barely. One touchdown was the difference.
True ... for the most part. Unfortunately, "quality wins" do matter in the BCS.
Operation chaos??
An UT 45 OU 35 apparently mean nothing..........brilliant.
I don’t know what your problem is - we won, get over it.
OK, but OU “only” beat OSU by 20 points. We (Tech) beat them by 36. Where are our style points?
“Barely? Baylor never scored after the second quarter.”
Not true, Baylor had a touchdown in the third quarter. And yes, coming back to win by one touchdown in the fourth quarter is classified as “barely”.
I corrected that statement, thanks - and who the hell cares - Baylor played well and we won. Get over it.
yeah, the BCS really makes sense. The only thing better would have been OU and t.u. ending in a tie.
Gig'em Aggies, whoop!
If it were just Texas and Oklahoma, you’d be spot on. But Texas beat Oklahoma, Oklahoma beat Texas Tech, and Texas Tech beat Texas.
All 3 teams finished tied for the lead in the South.
Continuously ignoring a good Texas Tech team does no good.
If Texas had taken care of business that night, they’d be in the Big XII title game with no arguments from anyone.
“Graham Harrell should still win the Heisman. Much better passer than McCoy.”
Not only is that incorrect, McCoy could literally run laps around Harrell and has 10 rushing touchdowns to prove it.
Yep, that dropped interception caused a lot of heartache. Ironically, Texas has beaten both teams in the Big XII Championship game.
Agreed. I don't even care about college football, but I watched the Broncos on the two occasions ESPN carried their games earlier this year. People love underdogs, and they aren't part of the "same old same old" regimen of college teams. Texas? Oklahoma? Florida? Yawn.
If OU had lost to OSU, then Texas Tech would have been going to the Big 12 final, not UT.
So UT needed OU to win, but not by much, or Tech to lose to Baylor.
The three-way tie was more complicated than UT fans made/are making it out to be. The three-way tie brings the whole season back into the calculation, or at least it should bring each team’s entire Big 12 results into some equation. Total point spread of wins minus point spread of losses?
That would be perfect. If you like seeing everyone tied up in knots.
Yes.. we all knew. But, the tie-breaker is retarded.. It's a subjective system that is completely out of the control of the teams affected by it.
I don't like using point spreads for several reasons... First, it encourages teams to run up the score... as does this current stupid polling/computer system. I HATE that. WHen there are 25 seconds left in a 13 pt game, and the other coach is NOT calling timeouts, you TAKE A FREAKING KNEE! You DON'T score another TD to impress stupid poll voters who only see the final score.
Second.... Not all games are played in the same scoring conditions. Should one or two teams be penalized if they played a low scoring game in a 50 mph wind storm in Lubbock, or a snow-storm in Colorado?
Or, what if one team has a SUPER defense and just wins in low scoring games? Offense is not everything to me.
Short of some kind of playoff, I don't see a fix. In the meantime, I'd prefer something as stupid as "longest away plays"... just to keep the excitement level in the conference up.
I DON'T believe Oklahoma is derseving. They are a sloppy team that commits way too many penalties and will killed by either Florida or Alabama....IMHO
We can get Linus and the Great Pumpkin to develop a tie-breaker system based on the number of “most sincere victories.”
Oklahoma running up the score in the last 30 seconds was disgraceful..
Having a Conference Division Represntative chosen by national polls is disgraceful.
Having OU, who was soundly beaten by Texas chosen over the Longhorns is disgraceful.
Frankly... this ENTIRE NCAA, BCS system is DISGRACEFUL, and I can’t believe it has survived this long and people still pay any attention to it.
Come on now, how far did the pass go?
