Former Soviet cosmonaut Vladimir Kovalenok appeared at a press conference devoted to unusual and anomalous phenomena in space. He said that he had witnessed something inexplicable during his work on board the Salyut orbital station. The cosmonaut said that he once saw a strange object on Earth’s orbit. He asked his partner, Viktor Savinykh, to fetch a camera. While Savinykh was trying to find the camera, the object exploded in front of Kovalenok’s eyes. The object split into two parts and had something like a bridge connecting those parts. The dumbbell-like object disappeared before the other cosmonaut was ready to photograph it. A strong radioactive emission was registered on Earth soon after the explosion of the mysterious object. Kovalenok said that many of his colleagues had witnessed something unusual on a number of occasions, but they decided not to bring those issues to the public attention.

The newscasters then ask an expert what their correspondent witnessed and filmed. It's all in Russian, but you can hear the girl saying "What is that? What is that?"
Pretty interesting. It would be nice to know why we keep seeing the triangle onyx looking ufo’s near the ground, and the crazy saucer shaped ufo’s with a slat in upper orbit.
Damn near all the Nasa missions have those 2 mile long suckers buzzing around. They get particularly excited when you drop a big mile long cable in their habitat. And then they have the rod looking things zipping all over the place.
It’s like a big party, and we’re the only one’s that didn’t get an invitation.
There’s more happening in our skies than we generally understand. This is certain, even if only 1% of the reports from pilots and astronauts is true.

Don’t think controllers generally use the term “flying saucer”.

I liberally paraphrased it. But I’ve heard the recording, and you plainly hear they are talking about some unidentified flying object that fer sure wasn’t a lost tool or something.

I guess the joke's on me, because that is without a doubt, one of the sorriest UFO video's I have ever seen. Matter of fact, it looks more like some sort of mirror trick.

There has been a lot of thought and discussion on that point.
One of the conclusions that people like to point out is that the human version of symmetry, two eyes for binocular depth perception, two arms for manipulation, the legs for ambulation, a single sense organ cluster located extremely close to the brain... all of these factors simply add up to the best design possible.
That being the case, evolution on other worlds would probably follow the same rules and come up with a dominant life form that would look pretty much similar to what we developed into.
For years, science fiction writers have been trying to come up with believable aliens that look “alien”. Different senses, different ways of getting around, etc. They haven’t had much luck.
