Good evening and welcome to the new week's thread...
P-E Obama is expected to announce his "Economic Team" today - Monday, and - hold on to your wallets - heavy spending plans to "boost" the sagging economy.
Meanwhile rumors swirl around the kind of deal he has struck with Hillary about the State Dept. job.
On all fronts...we shall see...
Thanks.
Misery loves company
I'm not complaining. I'm grateful for the door, the beef (I suppose it's beef), and the beer (it's been dry around here). I'm sorta country, and I'll make it, regardless.
What I worry about is when other folks that aren't willing to eat squirrel, venison, and wild boar will do when they can't get Doritos and McDonalds.
I make my daily bread, I can't afford store bought. I'm blessed with that. A lot of people I know would burn KornFlakes, if they had to make their own breakfast.
It's going to be a rough ride for some....

I am signing off, will check back in tomorrow or the next day.
Good night all.

UPDATE ON MY DAUGHTER, ELAINE:
She and her son went to Chapel Hill today for her appointment w/the doctor. He was very pleased w/her condition and has made no other appointments there for her. She still, however, must be tested further by her Charlotte doctor to see if there are any cells still in her body.
The Chapel Hill doctor told her that the melanoma was definitely malignant and the cancer cells were of the spindle shaped kind, a fact which seemed good to him. Such types more often occur in fair skinned and blue-eyed patients....which she is.
We are celebrating the good news, hopefully not prematurely, but I want all of you to know how grateful she and all of us are for your many prayers. God certainly heard them!
Continuing prayers for Elaine.
How are you feeling?
Uh-huh. And I'm sorta a Cheesehead.:)
Beef, beer and bread. The medieval English called it the Three B's and lived on it.
I, too, fear for those who cannot......possibly......live on less. We have lived on less...much less....many times over the years and managed to survive.
Wonderful news, C-mom! Prayers continuing.
Fantastic news
Excellent find!!
Great news. Prayers continue.
We’ve lived on much less. And if times get hard, we can do it again.
Good night, everyone. Dawn will be coming too soon and my dogs and cats will begging for attention before that.
A Soldier's Prayer (by Jesse Sparks)
It's time to sleep
I've been relieved
My rifle at my side
My knife in its' sheath
Lord let me live another day
As I put myself in harm's way
I made my choice, I took the oath
I stand for freedom, but I don't boast
My God, my country, my family
The things I hold so dear
With these all on my side
There's nothing for me to fear
But if I should fall before my next relief
I will stand before you Lord with honor and dignity
So, while I'm here please make me strong
To fight the battles and right what's wrong.
God Bless America
Good night, everyone.
Good morning.
Good morning, L.
Hi, 2/3.
Is that turkey thawing?
Special prayers for you and your family, with a monumental thanks to JT and his buddies. I honor them.
May God’s grace and peace surround you all.
