Good evening and welcome to the new week's thread...
P-E Obama is expected to announce his "Economic Team" today - Monday, and - hold on to your wallets - heavy spending plans to "boost" the sagging economy.
Meanwhile rumors swirl around the kind of deal he has struck with Hillary about the State Dept. job.
On all fronts...we shall see...
Me too!
Ouch - is it ok today?
My day was ok. I was in a house full of complete strangers, who were inter-related in some fashion or another. Not my favorite way to spend the day.
A fried turkey was fixed - my first. It was very tasty.
Good morning - I’m still full from a LATE dinner. I usually have the meal around 1 - this one was 5. Too much food, too late.
Favorite food yesterday - smashed tators and gravy. What a fabulous treat.
My son and DIL took possession of their new home last Tuesday, so are still working to paint/repair before they actually move in. We will go take our first look at it today, in old clothes, so we can help paint, if necessary.
I agree, 5PM is much too late for that sort of meal.
Do they live close?
Are you in KS?
Yes, they do.... well, did and will.
They had a home about 20 minutes from us, sold it, and moved further away to the beach - a rental - while they looked for a home to buy.
This one is about the same distance as the one they sold.
Funny thing - they all love the beach - surfer’s all, including my GD’s, but did not enjoy living at the beach, for which they are eternally grateful. The prices there are too high, and they hoped they would not fall in love with living 2 blocks from the ocean.
The smallish home they rented was priced at $750,000. They got a very large home, swimming pool, and an acre of land for much less. During the real estate bubble, it was priced at well over a million. Win-win for them.
Kassie, I can answer that, as President of his fan club.
No, he was planning to stay in CO, since he worked late, and snow was falling.
;)
I left all the pies behind at the hosts’ home yesterday.
No PIE for me! (thank god)
I’m glad they got a good deal. We lived (briefly) in Oceana,CA. Prices were ridiculous.
I’m trying to get caught up on the terror incidents in India. Very sad, very serious, especially in the implications for our future.
I read on fr yesterday that “WE” are staying out of it - were asked to stay out of it.
I can understand that. Our presence might inflame more passion. India IS our friend. I’ve always trusted Israel to whip ass big time. I wonder if they will become seriously involved? Hope so.
ALL prices seem riduculous here, but it’s typical supply/demand.
I have new pics of Charlotte Rose - STAND BY.....
And this was the photo we took on her Gotcha Day...she had no fur over 50% of her body, sunken in at the waist (farrrr too much), was a bag of bones. She had dermititis (from being eaten by fleas), ear infections, mammory tumor, not spayed, teeth a mess. All has been taken care of except her teeth. That is coming up.
You are a good Puppy Mom, indeed, and I’m sure Charlotte Rose is grateful to have a loving home.
OHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh she is so very sweet and so very lucky to have a good home.
Snarlin, seeing that photo of Charlotte Rose the day you got her took my breath away. Once again - for the about millionth time the words “How could anyone do something like that to an animal?” crossed my mine at wrap speed.
What a fantastc improvement and what wonderful “parents” you and Mr. Bear are.
Hi kassie. No, had to work very late Wednesday night and there were predictions for snow, and I don’t do snow when I travel. I am hoping to go to KS next weekend.
Major computer problems here; Ev’s working on it. Just wanted to pop in and say hi while I have a chance. BBL
