I've heard of those wonderful people, lysie. They were unable to be there when Ev left in '05; it was 11:00 p.m. (I know the article says "no matter what time of day or night", but understandably it's hard to have someone there during the late, late hours).

But on his return trip, there was a similar group at the airport in Georgia. The soldiers were greeted with a standing ovation and each was presented with a cute little "Beanie Baby" teddy bear in camo.

Played some golf yesterday..Golly, one drive went straight down the middle of the fairway, they usually don’t. Oh that felt good. Then on #5, forget it. It took me 3 strokes to get from the tee to the green, then 2 putted..that didn’t feel so good. The weather was cool, very soft breezes, the air was dry, the sun was out, it was a perfect day for golf. Roomey did very well, as usual, Beanie had a ball leading us around the course and chasing squirrels. We were the only ones on the course and this was after church.
