That pic is so sweet! Like the one of the baby reaching out of his mom’s tummy during surgery to wrap his fingers around the doc’s finger.

I think that kid is eight years old now. Named Adam, if I recall correctly.

Yes, that was a very memorable picture.

That is a newborn only 24 weeks old and weighing one pound. She had a long stuggle and five years later she is a pretty little girl who is normal in every way. Amen.

I knew that.

I was prepared for tinyness when my girls were born. I was all set to marvel over the delicacy of their features.

Instead, my wife gave birth to toddlers.

We lugged them home like sacks of potatoes. ‘Ceptin that they cost more.

NnB—I think you’re right. I googled it once. House did a spoof of that awhile back. That’s what made me think of it.

LadyJ—so glad the little girl turned out fine! I thought the baby’s fingers looked premie in the pic.

Okay, I got the name wrong. His name is Samuel.

But I was right about his age.

You know, it's always a happy day when you see a teardrop camper. Did I tell you about the one I saw camped by the Cape Cod Canal early last September? Regretfully no one showed up in the three days I was there but it reminded me of yours because it was white with no mfr name on it. Main exterior difference is it had a blue stripe down the length. I thought I took a photo of it, can't find it.

Yes, it was.

They are both very healthy now. Not only that, but they look like their mother. Wow, did I dodge a bullet with that one!

Is that cool or what? Holding a finger out to a baby and the baby clutching it are such primitive instincts. It makes me laugh—all the “experts” who dig up some long dead child/family and give their theories on family life bazillions of years ago. Nothing’s changed. Adults love babies and children—it would be counter productive not to.

That her fingers didn’t even cover his fingernail drew me to the photo.

One has to give props to the artist for His exquisite attention to detail.
