Thank you, Billie.

Loved yesterday’s thread but I didn’t get any pings answered. Shame on me!! :(

These down times are so frustrating. Whenever I have errands, I try to schedule them for afternoons so I can spend mornings here with my friends.

This afternoon, I will be working the PTA snack bar again. I think I should unretire and get a real job. :^ )

Will see you tomorrow, good Lord willing and if the creek don't rise and FR don't go down again. 'nite, all.

Billie, this is my mindset now when I get ready to sign on in the morning, "Will it be down again?" Happy to say FR has been humming all morning, Yay!!!

Greetings, everyone!!

“I am by the fire sipping and contemplating under the stars.”

Move over, I’ve got a couple of cups of hot coco and some chocolates to share.

A (relatively) clear sky and clear views never looked so good as they do now!!

The f-words are still not 100% contained, but getting there. The wind kicked up again yesterday, made me noivous:-)

James Garfield born in 1831

In foreign affairs, Garfield's Secretary of State invited all American republics to a conference to meet in Washington in 1882. But the conference never took place. On July 2, 1881, in a Washington railroad station, an embittered attorney who had sought a consular post shot the President.

Mortally wounded, Garfield lay in the White House for weeks. Alexander Graham Bell, inventor of the telephone, tried unsuccessfully to find the bullet with an induction-balance electrical device which he had designed. On September 6, Garfield was taken to the New Jersey seaside. For a few days he seemed to be recuperating, but on September 19, 1881, he died from an infection and internal hemorrhage.

LOL! Usually when I'm not on FR much is when I'm feeling good! Pardon the dark humor, it comes from going through stuff all the time. Just finishing up a nasty copd/bronchitis bout with kidney stones near the end. Seems to be a regular combination of late. Glad to be alive and buried in things that didn't get done.

CAT DIARY

Day 983 of my captivity.

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets.

Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength. The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape.

In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.

Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a ‘good little hunter’ I am.
B@$@&%$!

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event.

However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of ‘allergies.’ I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow — but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches.

The dog continues to receive special privileges. He is regularly released and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.
