LOL! You never know when it'll happen. Best to keep your eyes open. Especially on Potato Day.

Thank you, Majie - seems the song was a good choice. :)

P.S. Those mashed potatoes you posted earlier looked so good I almost made some for dinner tonight! (settled for rice instead - quicker and easier) :)

Thank you, Meg. I like it when a song 'clicks' with others.

Know I'm taking a shortcut with posts today, but have to remark on your beautiful Sunday opening yesterday...and the HOLIDAYS! Loved the way you presented them.

Your sunrise at #2524(I'm just thinking it HAS to be rising instead of setting) is so pretty and so quiet and peaceful-looking.

Your post with the single brightly-colored autumn leaf, along with your words, is such a beautiful tribute to your wife, and I just wanted to thank you for sharing that with us. I hope soon you will be able to spend more time here. We miss you, OESY.

The Elephant Poem
by Wayne Hepburn

Elephants are lovely guys,
They're good and true and tell no lies.

They don't take more than they can eat,
And always watch where they put their feet.

They don't play with electric wires;
I never have heard of them starting fires.

They live healthily, they don't smoke
An Elephant is a kindly bloke.

Elephants take care of their young,
And rarely speak with angry tongue.

When in school, they do not cheat,
They walk in lines which are quite neat.

They don't beat up on smaller folks,
Don't care if they're the butt of jokes.

They don't fret, what to wear today,
Look simply splendid all in gray.

Super strong yet very nice,
They're really not afraid of mice.

I've tried and tried but I just can't
Find anything better than the Elephant.

It is officially Tuesday here in the Central Time Zone, so I posted "today's" opening before saying goodnight. Will be back later in the morning.

Elephants today, because we are strong, and we are beautiful, and we have only a week to go before all the ballots are cast and the votes counted. It can still happen.

Thanks for the mashed potato pic reply.
:)
Rice is good too...

But given a choice between the two, I’d eat/fix potatoes 8 to 2 out of ten.

& not always prepped my fave way(mashed.)

Potatoes are great just about any way they are prepared/cooked,I think so,anyway.

It is beautiful, reminds me of mirages that I have seen in the desert, but LOL, they are in grey tones, never saw one with these beautiful colors.

In Your Head
I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel. —Galatians 1:6

I love the prayer that begins, “God be in my head.” When I first heard it, admittedly I thought it sounded a little weird. But then I got to thinking how unfortunate it is if in our efforts to get closer to Jesus we focus on our emotional experience of Him and check our brains at the door. Without His truth ringing in our heads, we’re bound to get off track.

Just look at the early Christians. False teachers filled their heads with misinformation, saying that salvation and spiritual growth could be attained only through keeping the requirements of the law. When Paul heard of it, he was astonished at how quickly they had gotten off track: “I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ” (Gal. 1:6).

It’s not just false teachers who lead us astray. Our world is full of twisted thinking like, “If it feels good, do it,” or “The one with the most toys wins.” Let’s face it, you and I can’t afford to check our brains at the door. In fact, intimacy with Jesus begins with getting to know Him, and it’s the facts about Him that make us want to get close to Him.

So, strange as it may sound, if you want to stay on track with Jesus, start each day by asking Him to be in your head!

God be in my head, and in my understanding;
God be in my eyes, and in my looking;
God be in my mouth, and in my speaking;
God be in my heart, and in my thinking. —Sarum Primer

To stay on track, let God guide your thinking.
