The Elephant Poem
by Wayne Hepburn
Elephants are lovely guys,
They're good and true and tell no lies.
They don't take more than they can eat,
And always watch where they put their feet.
They don't play with electric wires;
I never have heard of them starting fires.
They live healthily, they don't smoke
An Elephant is a kindly bloke.
Elephants take care of their young,
And rarely speak with angry tongue.
When in school, they do not cheat,
They walk in lines which are quite neat.
They don't beat up on smaller folks,
Don't care if they're the butt of jokes.
They don't fret, what to wear today,
Look simply splendid all in gray.
Super strong yet very nice,
They're really not afraid of mice.
I've tried and tried but I just can't
Find anything better than the Elephant.

It is officially Tuesday here in the Central Time Zone, so I posted "today's" opening before saying goodnight. Will be back
later in the morning.
Elephants today, because we are strong, and we are beautiful, and we have only a week to go before all the ballots are cast and the votes counted. It can still happen.

I absolutely love your opening...the graphics are so unique, enjoyed the poem and well, that is one of my favorite ‘happy’ songs. Don’t you think it makes you feel happy? I always have. Thanks to ya!

I always liked both the song (Baby Elephant Walk) and the movie that it came from (Hatari).
Here's another song from the "olden" days that I always liked: The Master's Call

at dusk from the island in the river, and it's not too cold,
I'll wait for the moon to rise, then take wing and glide to meet him.
We will not speak, but hooded against the frost soar above the alder flats, searching with tawny eyes.
And then we'll sit in the shadowy spruce and pick the bones of careless mice,
while the long moon drifts toward Asia and the river mutters in its icy bed.
And when the morning climbs the limbs we'll part without a sound,
fulfilled, floating homeward as the cold world awakens.
