You wrote the poem ...

"He was a trooper..My daughter had temperature that week..It was frantic the day before the wedding..and of course it all turned out beautifully.
I missed my hair appointment..just did it myself..I wasn’t the star anyway...

The honeymoon couple spent the night in a hotel then left the next day for their honeymoon trip/move to Atlanta..We all cried that day when they left..so far away.. My husband died less than 6 months later of a heart attack. How little we know what may come..both the heartbreak and the wonderful."

... I just worked out a translation ...

He Stood That Day
He stood up in church that day,
And walked its length in pain,
For there are things that should be done,
While lesser things remain.

He walked his daughter down the aisle,
With pain in heart and limb,
Surrendered to the fate that meant,
She’d soon be gone from him.

She whom he had nurtured,
Protecting from all harm,
He walked with her and memories,
Soft-nestled on his arm.

All in the party sacrificed,
The daughter, like her dad,
Stayed cool and calm throughout the day,
Despite the temp she had.

And with the morning, they moved on,
Though parents rest and weep,
For far away they traveled ere,
They chanced again to sleep.

This was the strength he showed and shared,
That should the need arise,
You stand up like the man you are,
Whose inner child just cries.

This is the way we make our men,
Or, they make themselves that way,
He comes to know inside his head,
Each moment is his day.

His time to be upon the Earth,
His turn to find a way,
Though circumstances caused regret,
He stood with her that day.

He’d set the pattern for his life,
His fate was launched and gone,
Though he had other things to do,
Too soon he had moved on.

We think our days are hours to keep,
It’s just a borrowed spell,
We use it, then, with some regret,
We turn it back as well.

The rented suit we occupied,
Time-worn, is turned back in,
And somewhere, there’s a fitting room,
Where once more we’ll begin.

Oh, Dolly, I haven't been on much Lately and am just Finding this out; my Prayers will be with you in the Coming Days for a Quick Healing. I'm Thankful to our Lord that you didn't have to have Surgery.

So many people tell me I am crazy to do the rugged hikes as I "may get hurt" Of course this is always an awareness for people like me... but at my age in the 6th decade of life this is the first injury as a result of an outing & I think it is a pretty good record & it will not deter me from future outings that I love so much.

I Love your Spirit! God Bless you, Dear FRiend. (((((((Many Prayers will be Incoming)))))))!

Shark Tonic
Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. —Hebrews 12:1

Have you ever heard of shark “tonic”? It isn’t a serum that prevents shark attacks or a medicine given to sharks. The actual term is “tonic immobility,” described as “a natural state of paralysis that animals enter. . . . Sharks can be placed in a tonic immobility state by turning them upside down. The shark remains in this state of paralysis for an average of 15 minutes before it recovers.”

Imagine, a dangerous shark can be made vulnerable simply by turning it upside down. The state of tonic immobility makes the shark incapable of movement.

Sin is like that. Our ability to honor our Lord, for which we are created in Christ, can be put into “tonic immobility” by the power and consequences of sin. To that end, the writer of Hebrews wants us to be proactive. He wrote, “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us” (Heb. 12:1).

If we are to run the race of the Christian life effectively, we must deal with sin before it immobilizes us. We need to lay aside the sin that hinders us from pleasing Him—starting today.

Start early today to run in the race
That Christians are told they can win;
First wait on the Lord for the strength He will give,
Then lay aside every known sin. —Branon

We must face up to our sins before we can put them behind us.
