LOL
Yep ... babies grow up, but they are so much fun until they do. ;)
Awww! Thanks, L J, Place Holders...Sweet!
Good afternoon, LadyJ.
We have had unseasonally warm weather. Temps have been in the mid 80’s to low 90’s. It is cool in the mornings but Marissa is still wearing skorts to school.
My back has been bothering me so I took an Advil and a nap earlier. Feeling great now.
Ahh ... aren’t pets wonderful? We have our cat, Mr Mittens. He is mostly an outdoor cat but he does come in everyday for some canned food and some loving. He was locked out of the garage last night so when he came in this morning, he found a soft, comfortable place for a nap. After five hours, I woke him and put him out. Been kinda worried, he has started going to the orchard across the street. Wonder why the neighbor’s gophers are so much more interesting than ours?
Then we have Carl; he is a Siamese Fighting Fish (beta). He is the only pet that doesn’t get into stuff. :) We’ve only had him about a month. We got him after Mariss’s goldfish, Dorothy, died. We had Dorothy for almost 4 years.
In addition to those two, we have two big dogs. Millie is our 7 year old German Shepherd. She is an excellent watch dog. Then LouieMax ... he is a Yellow Lab and huge. He barks if Millie barks or howls if he hears a siren or a coyote. :) They are in a fenced yard. Whenever Marissa wants to go outdoors, I do not worry if she is in the back yard with these two.
Do you have kittens? Any other pets?
We’re all in our places with sun shiny faces.
**Im still waiting for the laptop that Newt promised.....**
I must be outta the loop—is that a joke? LOL
Don’t they have cool toys at Best Buy?! First time I’ve been in the store.
Thanks! That’s so cool!
Doing great here, Conor. Been busy doing “have to do stuff” and “like to do stuff.” LOL
I hadn’t considered Macs either. I wandered onto a thread by swordmaker and got to conversing with him. He’s gung ho over them. I’d like to at least check them out. I hate Word with a passion. Might be operator error! Not user friendly tho.
The closest Apple store is 150 miles away, and i really didn’t want to spend that much money without getting my hands on one first.
Guess what? My baby sis is having her first baby @ Thanksgiving. It just so happens...she lives about 2 miles from the apple store! LOL I’m going to check them out when we go up for the baby.
Never had my hands on a laptop until today. I really think I could get to liking them. I spend a lot of time on my puter and hubby gets jealous. If I had a laptop, I could sit in the den with him. He might be more amenable to that!
Go McCain/Palin!!
**babies grow up**
That they do! Had 2 of mine and the gbaby, + sil and #2son’s girlfriend here for supper tonight. I enjoyed that!
I love a laptop! I take it everywhere with me...and have an
aircard for when I can’t get a wireless signal! LOL!
Good hunting!
Congrats...auntie!
Nice, Dolly. Thank you for the nice presentation for WayzataJOHNN’s poem.
Be still my heart! Beautiful combo, Cheers, you two!
LOL .... hey I like your used car. May I borrow it?
Those holidays for ‘firsts’ are a problem for me .... I may start skipping them unless it is something special. I don’t think anyone really reads them.
I had my Holidays almost ready to post but decided to check the thread first. When I saw Majie’s Color Graphic, I couldnt resist. :^ )
I was so glad I checked the thread prior to hitting post.
(((Yup!)))
:)
I read them!
It gives me ideas for searches.
Keep doing it, folks can just not post re:
stuff the don’t relate to/and or/ can’t find stuff to post about a day listed. Having lots to choose from is fun.
I really think I’m going to enjoy one. I do a lot of writing, so it doesn’t matter where I am. Does the flat keyboard bother you? I like the scroll pad on the ones I played with today. Best Buy had one 13” Macpro that someone bought on line and returned to their store. It’s too small, but I got to check it out. The girl at BB said if she had the $ she’d get a Mac.
I’m the oldest of 5, 14 years between me and baby sis. I got married early and she got married late. My baby is almost 19. It will be nice to have a baby again, and I intend to spoil this one for all I’m worth! LOL
When They No Longer Listen
Rage on, rage on, rage on
with slashing battle sword
To the deafening crashing blows
of a forged steel war hammer
Against armor worn by mortal men
diplomacy failing yet again
Such is this tired age of sin
all lost in this bloody sickening din
Where even bravery stammers
and evil reaps what it does sow
Empty windows covered with boards
stark burned shells in a red cast dawn
Winners and losers straggle away
both sickened by the course of this day
Hard to tell this is which, amid the survivors
a lesson so hard its engraved in the heart
So terrible it stains the soul forever
and leave all silent at the price
Kings and Lords repent, and peace entice
let the cruel will to oppress be sever
And set self greed now apart
for leaders have become political whores
We can no longer this savage price pay
ask the lost souls what they would say
Im Angry
I hear the talking heads agree to disagree,
and make America less with every word.
I rage at the ease with which they lie you see,
protected by rights they think for us absurd.
Black is white and that isnt right,
for truth should not be a commodity.
But until we the people put it in that light,
theres not a chance in hell it will ever be.
You who let those others think for you,
you aid them with your bleeding heart apathy.
If you think your free think again, oh do,
because your more a slave then you want to be.
Letting others lead your life this way,
shows your weakness as a citizen my friend.
America wasnt built by the like of you I say,
but those who love her enough in the end.
Those who serve her, defend her with pride,
those strong in God and self-responsibility.
Those who build her up and never hide,
are the Americans you have the chance to be.
Change not the Constitution or our Rights,
they are the backbone of our way of life.
Greatness comes to those who remain in the light,
and strive to overcome apathy and strife.
Our enemies rage both without and within,
seeking our very end in their vented fear.
Wanting only to have their choice of blameless sin,
and let the other guy pay the price so dear.
And now I ask you citizens one and all,
to stand for something worthy in the end.
To be true to America, and prevent her fall,
to those who think only to tax and spend.
