NEW YORK (AP) - Oklahoma, where the No. 1 ranking rests again.
The Sooners sit atop the AP Top 25 on Sunday after the first upset-filled weekend of the season gave the media poll a powerful shake. Alabama was both a mover and a shaker, as the Crimson Tide rose to No. 2 after a surprising 41-30 pounding of Georgia.
Previously top-ranked Southern California lost at Oregon State to set the tone for a weekend that brought back memories of the topsy-turvy 2007 season.
On Saturday, two more top-five teams fell. Florida was stunned at home by Mississippi, 31-30. Georgia, which started the season No. 1, was down 31 points by halftime to Alabama and never recovered.
Overall, nine ranked teams lost, six to unranked foes.
The last time such a shake-up occurred? One year ago, when in the last week of September three of the top-five teams fell and seven ranked teams lost to unranked opponents.

I have a sister who lives in Norman and a niece at OU. My daughter is working on a second degree at Tech. I’d say if you were born in West Texas, lived in OKC and now live in Tennessee, you have traveled.
LOL! With California in between.
count me as an OU fan, been going to OU games longer than lots of Freepers have been alive
Really, remember how good Oregon looked last year until they lost their star player?
Nevertheless, as an all the way LSU guy...we like to wait until the last game in January is played.
Yep, that’s why despite my Gators losing yesterday, I felt whoever won the BCS title this year would have at least one loss. We had a bad day, but it really doesn’t change much, we’d still have to beat LSU and UGA, and should we make it to the SEC Championship Game, the SEC West winner (which right now looks to be Bama). If we do that, we should still make it to the title game, if we don’t, then we weren’t going to win it anyway, regardless of what happened yesterday.
Halp me, I'm invisible
USC has no business at 8. The sports media bias for USC is almost as bad as the Drive Bys bias for the Rats and Obama.
The Land Thieves days as number 1 end in Dallas in 13 days. Enjoy it while it last Cheaters!
Watch out for the ‘Cats! Go Big Blue! (one can hope, right?)
The SEC rocks.
Good folks over there at Oklahoma. For as long as I can remember there has been a good relationship between OK fans and Bama fans. They joined us in celebrating our win over UGA this weekend. (minus the 3rd quarter, lol)
And my Northwestern Wildcats get dissed again. There is no justice.
POWER!
They knew what was in store for them when you won! lol
Us TIDE fans have been hopin’ for along time,I never look at Kentuck and say it’s an easy win.
ROLL TIDE
See you here during the game?
Would that be the Nitally Lions of NPSU?
New Pennsylvania State University?
In an Obama world, it will become “Pennsylvania Socialist University” and the Nitally Lions will literally be lions the Christians are fed to.... ;^)
Great graphic!
Listen, I realize it is a long shot but we DID beat the then #1 team in the country last year (LSU) and have won 16 games the past two years along with 2 bowl wins.
We are 4-0 this year heading to Tuscaloosa, so the last 2 1/2 years we are 20-10 (probably close to ‘Bama’s record).
This is NOT the UK of old. That said y’all will beat us 21-10.
How bout them Ute's.
