The Dow was up a little over 120 points.
Senator Kennedy was rushed to the emergency room.
I agree with your assessment that Nobama precludes the will of the MAJORITY of the American people.
backatcha :))
Excellent post, Jem! You ARE the boss! :))
I am sorry for the loss of your neighbor, Joe. It is especially hard to see your friends suffer during the process. Cancer is such an insidious disease.
How long ago was it that Fat Teddy was diagnosed? His cancer is reported to be of the aggressive type.
And yet, my family still insists on trying things their own way. ;)
...”I did not watch or listen to the debate, because I cannot stand to look at the one you mention (the Arab descendant whose ancestors were slave owners in Africa), nor can I stand to hear his voice. I am assuming that our heard this in the debate...”
He makes my blood boil too but that’s not enough for me to just switch off my proverbial hearing aid or cover my ears and say, “La-la-la-la...” over the sound of his ignorance. I want to know just HOW ignorant he is, HOW dishonest he is with himself and with the people, HOW naive he is, HOW dangerous he would be as POTUS, HOW inexperienced he is and HOW utterly controlled he is by his EVEN MORE dangerous handlers.
LOL! I hear ya, loud and clear, Jem.
EQ, you have asked for volumes of information. It is all over Free Republic and also elsewhere on the net:

Good morning.
2/3 I couldn’t bring myself to watch the debate last night.
Jemian are you feeling any better?
Lysie, thanks for the start!
Well, I watched the entire debate, Two thirds! Of course, it required two martinis and a shot of brandy, but I made it!
Obama overcame his “uh” problem in the first part of the debate, but they came back when things got really dicey for him. Also, he interrupted McCain rudely, called him “John” while McCain called him “Senator Obama”, LIED about Henry Kissinger’s position on negotiating with Iran (Kissinger immediately sent out a statement), at one point asked Lehrer if he could change his answer (No), and looked alternately angry and cocky.
McCain was calm, respectful, and at times really funny. (He told Lehrer “I don’t have a seal yet” in reference to something he would do if elected.)
McCain won, hands down. Ignore the media analysis, as they are in the tank for Barky.
I’m holding my own. How are you?
Joe was my neighbor and a good neighbor at that. However, I lost a lifelong pal (from 2nd grade to age 39) to the evil “C” 10 years ago. He also happened to be my neighbor. I was with him 4 hours before he passed away along with some family and friends who’d come to say goodbye. I had called over there and his wife said that I’d better get over there quick. Unfortunately, I knew that this was the harbinger. When I walked into the room, his sister told him that I was there to see him. It was then that he raised his one free arm from the side of the bed with his hand open. I grabbed onto his hand and said to him, “Hi, Scott. I’m drunk but I’m here. I’ve been thinking about you all day long...”. I held on to him for just a half-minute and then abruptly let go of his hand but not without saying on my way out that I would see him when I got ‘there’. I walked home and proceeded to get even more drunk. When I woke up, there was a message on my answering machine. It was his wife, Sherry, to say that he was gone. It had been a long two years since they had both come to see me the day they first got the bad news but at that time they assumed that it would only take some routine surgery and treaments and he’d be back to work in a few short months. Six months later, it happened again- They just out-of-the-blue knocked on my door and like a mule-kick to the gut, they told me that what they’d never expected was in fact, going to happen. Sherry said to us both, “Well, I’m going home to do some laundry and vacuuming. Why don’t you guys go on up to the store and pick up some beer and hang out here for awhile.”. She gave him $10 and off we went to the store where we walked around aimlessly as if lost in the same supermaket that we both knew like the backs of our hands. At one point, we were actually laughing together at how confused we were about everything. Finally, we got out of there and had the chance to gather our wits and talk about the weather, the Tigers, Lions and Pistons and I can’t remember what else. I miss him like a brother. So that’s the difference between a neighbor and a brother who also happened to be my neighbor.
Okay, I’m done. I’d never written it all down until now...
Good morning! Thanks for the thread, lysie. Glad you are doing so well!
(((((equaviator)))))
The pain never fully goes away, does it? Memories are precious.

Thanks. “Been there, done that”, as they say. I want to see it/hear it directly from the horse’s ass himself, if you will. From now through Election Day and perhaps into the next calender year. Live, unedited and as it happens in real time.
You would not believe the week I’ve had. Way too long to type out. But at this point I am thinking things can only get better...But my foot is healing fine!! No complaints there.
I hate you aren’t feeling better.

Fight Night! Jonathan V. Last on the debate
The number of vanities is proliferating on the News side like mushrooms after days of rain. Isn’t the FR policy to discourage such threads? Thanks, and many thanks to John Rob on fixing last week’s problem.
