Question for my fellow conservative women

Do you get garbage from other women telling you that no woman would ever vote Republican?

Granted, I'm in Texas and we tend vote only Republican in my neck of the woods, but, I have noticed that a lot of women tend to become more conservative after marriage and having kids.

I will also report something I find awesome. As an older student in a college full of 18-22/23 year olds I am seeing that the new generation is no longer on board for "pro-choice". I took a Western Civ. class last semester that focused on WWII, as a sideline to the course we had to read a book called "Meditations of a Holocaust Traveler" by Gerald Markle ( I don't recommend it, it's written by a sociologist and you have to have an understanding of Social theory to get his points and there are much better books out there).

By the end of the semester 98% of the class did not see the differences in the arguments for the Final Solution and the arguments for abortion and agreed that abortion is America's holocaust.

Only on the internet, and I don't talk to them because they just plain come across as mean, negative and go out of their way to criticize anything and everything Republican. Reminds of when I was in college, how girls can be. I avoid mean-spirited people.

In my regular life, no, I seldom meet a Republican, and I'm bubbly and outgoing when I get out and just the usual chitchat with the minimum wage people I normally encounter but don't talk politics because we are blue here.

If the very few people I encounter aren't angry and the subject of politics comes up, I will listen to their opinion without getting angry. Then I try to see some good in our opponents so that when I point out what I perceive as extremely negative, they at least listen.

It's ironic, but I don't hobnob with the kind of middle and upper class people I grew up with and with whom I once worked, socialized and worshipped. Life has taken me on a different path, but I've never been prouder of my party than I have been the last several days. It is like rekindling hope for the future of my children and grandchildren. We are united and energized. The GOP has at last filled my hopes and dreams by drawing the kind of people I've been yearning for under the big tent. Ordinary, struggling Americans from all walks of life. We need more of them and young people.

I'm so thrilled to see such genuine exuberance and happiness on our side these last two nights despite the multitude of spoilers.

Funny this question would be asked. I was walking in my neighborhood, which is located in a "trendy", inside-the-beltway area, loaded with chattering classes and Obama signs. It's a beautiful evening, and there are restaurants and shops, and we have a summer event which draws folks out.

Anyhow, every, single group of two or more women were discussing the Palin speech, and how they thought it was great. I had to keep checking my ears. Hmmmm...

Not really, but I live in a majority Republican area. I do know a couple of women who are voting for Obama, but they are a definate minority here.

BunnySlippers, I run into this all of the time working in downtown Cleveland. The dem ladies, at first, appear to enjoy being with me because I enjoy being with them. Then, eventually, we'll start discussing politics and issues, and they'll slowly back away. They think our views are abnormal. I have only met one lady at work who actually gave me a “high five” for being a GOPer. She and I are actually alike, and we are constantly laughing with each other. With the dem ladies, they're constantly complaining and saying, “Woe is me.” These ladies truly do want government to do just about everything for them.

NOPE!

I will say that some conservative woman are more conservative than the GOP’s most recent direction on family.

You can thank the National Organization for Women (NOW) for years of liberal brainwashing.

Liberal women are EASY to pick out.

Just look at their dress - typically TRENDY.

Married women vote Republican. Single women vote Democrat. I suppose it depends on whether you feel secure enough to vote for freedom.

I laugh and say that as long as I’m a military wife, I’m voting for a Conservative Commander in Chief. Preserving the safety of our nation is for all of us.

My son made an interesting comment tonight. He’s 24. Last night he went to a party where most of the guests were ever-so-cosmpolitan Ivy grads.

At the dinner table, the topic of Gov (soon to be VP) Palin came up ... and she was summarily dismissed as not worthy of discussion. Later, the topic of abortion came up and, he observed, they did not even want to hear or understand why anyone would be opposed to abortion.

His observation was that they were not even interested from a strategic point in knowing how the other side thinks ... because they are so convinced their thinking is so correct and all that counts. Of course, he’s observed some of that same mindset on this site ;)

When speaking with any liberal, resign yourself to the fact that they are NOT open-minded. When they spout their liberal talking points I just smile and say in all sincerity: You're just kidding me! I KNOW you are too intelligent to believe that.
I then move away without further comment.
