I’m so happy to see You that I read Your post too fast to see all Your words,LOL!
I guess tis because I wanted to reply before You went poof, gone, again!
Have a good night!
Man it sure paid off today reading through the Thread like I always do...pinged or not...Happily!
Had I not i’d have missed seeing You Here today!
Welcome back greetings to You too.
& T Y for the “darlin”!
Another part I didn’t see at 1st,LOL!
I don’t need glasses,I just need to see more Louie posts.
:)
Layering allows you to manipulate selected portions of a graphic or photo. You'd select the sky out, for example, to change it without affecting the rest of the picture.
For example, the Biden graphic I made below. I wanted to use Clinton's hand gesture and could not find a decent photo of it. I got the hands and took them off Bill. For Biden, the color, size and texture had to be changed. It's not perfect because I was in a hurry, yet most people wouldn't notice the details.
I just painted the lipstick on.
If you are interest in playing with those links, explore Picasa.
I haven’t used any of them. People I’ve worked with have and they rave about Picasa’s many capabilities.
Very nice example!
Hi, Dolly. Good to see you.
No way am trying to be controlling. I am trying to help everyone have a good AP experience. I’m not sure where you get the 95% figure (it may well be correct) but we are not hearing online from those who are not coming by because I have removed them from the ping lists.
If you will look back at the last few days, you will see that most of the posts are by 5 or 6 people. Alot of work goes into hostessing the thread. At the Finest, hours of work, as you should know, went into creating beautiful threads.
I had hoped that with help from some of our friends, everyone would still be able to post great graphics without losing anything in the appearance.
As you must know, I am still learning and I have been guilty of posting graphics that are huge, KB size.
I have had people ask to be removed from my ping list because when they open their “Comments Page”, their computers freeze.
All that I am asking is that everyone try the links provided in an attempt not to lose contact with some of our FRiends.
I hope you will not leave because of this request, Dolly. I enjoy seeing your pictures but please understand I am requesting that all give these optimizing links a try.
I’m sure Meg or LadyJag can help you with these sites.
Thanks for understanding.

???
Can’t be! Lady Jag has always just been an ornery ol’ cuss, I thought! Do you still have possession of all your marbles, Dolly? or did the dogs get to your brain?
time out for AFPhys.. 30 minutes in corner.. Bad Boy hat must be worn
(actually you might be right re: brain/dogs but I will stand with Lady Jag & her talent)
I guess I will join the others who are backing away for now..
the mainstream thread has always been posted by a core group of less than 10 with other occasional posters.
I dont mean to cause trouble & dont want to stir the pot but I see this as a beautiful place & there was a LOT of participation until the post requesting limiting pix..
I have had 4 FR/emails in past 20 min from others who the past few days have felt confused & intimidated.
I believe it is in the best interst of ALL for this to be hashed out here rather than by email/FRmail
(((( .... oops .... ))))
amy I do know how to reduce pix & do so all the time
My camera is HEAVY DUTY & my pix are between 4800 & 6000 KB per pix
when I reduce them to the 600 X 400 they go down to about 120 + KB. and that is good for my use.
I do NOT intend to do it more. If this is unacceptable What I will do is post at Wide Awakes (which I do) & just give links here
I love you all & know this is a hard issue for some & REALLY do understand the grief you experience as thread “CHIEF” as such Amy.. you are torn & I am so glad I am not you for this.
I realize a pix of 2000KB is a problem but I feel badly for my friends in the past who posted a pix of 250 KB & were crucified. (and then left for good)
Hey, DD. Good to see you. Looks like you may have a little help in trying to keep me in line. LOL
Seeing Louie today was a big surprise for me. But I must admit, it was a good surprise.
Hey, Majie.
Good to see you again today.
Wish you could have been here for the picnic on Saturday. Maybe, next year?
Good evening, Luv. Thank you.
GReat to see you. I don’t recall any of yours being too big. When you right click on a graphic, open the properties option. It will show you the actual size and the size in KBs.
I hope we get through this rough spot. It was not my intention to offend anyone. :)
oh Amy.. I forgot to mention that I dont think you are controlling .. no way.
I think you are torn & trying to be a peace maker & for that you have mega hugs & my love (big time)
I am worn. Buried my precious aunt today. I was the only one there. watched the whole thing. The grave digging, to the final seeding of the plot
The issues with my dog trial , the on going issues with a difficult mom who I care give & the frustrating $$$ issues(and they are VERY significant) are always tearing at my soul
I love you all as I said but for my own sanity MUST stay with places tha dont offer more tension (or as I said egg shell walking AKA.. who will I offend perhaps mentality)
I will try to visit some of your links, but you must know that my loyalty is with FReeRepublic.
FR has been here for many of us for more than 10 years.
We are never too old to learn and I intend to keep doing just that.
Thanks for you past contributions, Dolly.
Good to see You too,always!
Hang in There!
I wish I could have made it too...Someday!
I shoulda gone before moving soooooo far away.
Beautiful yellow daylily with butterfly, Grannie.
Thanks for sharing your flowers with us.
LOL
Good idea. Bet they will love my blue Mondays. :)
